hahahahahaha  You made me laugh out loud this morning.  I noticed it last night.  Just glad I'm not the only one that found it /r/mildlyinfuriating.

Every week it's something new ... almost as if LEGO developers are purposely messing with customers.

(of course I'm only kidding, but I can't believe how messy it gets over there)

Nice job LEGO Shop at Home. You suck.

What I am missing here? Sure, the form fields are a bit off, but otherwise I cannot see anything wrong. Is it not letting you enter the numbers?

In some organizations, the developer(s) would never live down to that obvious & preventable mistake and the Quality Assurance people would be laughed out of the room.

^ this .. It's just ridiculous is all. Also, until I did a force refresh, only the "update" option was available to me in payment section. After I forced a refresh of the site I was able to "create a new" credit card.

The site is virtually unusable in Safari. Search? Go to homepage. Checkout? Go to homepage. Check order status? Go to homepage. Seriously it's amazing they get any orders.

I'm more amazed someone uses Safari.

I see similar effects in Chrome. Any search attempt results in a Show homepage. When looking at a theme, and there's a page 2, when clicking on next page... you guessed it: Homepage.

It does work in Microsoft Edge browser (Win10) though.

It's the same in Firefox so it's not the browsers...

Close and restart your browsers... that's the behavior when they update the website and you don't restart your browser.

I close and restart my browser everytime I use it. You need to clear cookies. Having to clear cookies after every site update is a symptom of bad/lazy web developers.

I honestly have never cleared my cookies and restarting the browser does the trick for me. Having to restart your browser after a site update is also a symptom of bad/lazy developers. And of crappy testers.

They're probably too busy playing with LEGO to do proper testing if they do have any. I know I would be.

Based on some of the recent releases, they are doing a great job of testing Lego. They look really good ;)

I'm in the software industry (as it seems are a large number of other BPers) and I'm going to make an educated guess that the reason why we never seem to see any improvements on their site is because the site is architected poorly.

If it was well architected then the silly navigation and usability issues (not to mention failing under large Black Friday type use) that keep popping up are easily fixable. They MUST be aware of the issues and they aren't being addressed because they are too costly (too much effort) to fix.

The fact that the summary screen can show "add to bag" and when you go to the actual Lego set page it shows sold out is a pretty large red flag that they have either a data or software architecture problem. (and not just a poor QA problem - again if it was easy for them to fix I'm figuring they'd have fixed it)

So the business decision becomes do we re-architect the site from scratch or do we limp along for as long as we can milking the invest we already made in it. (possibly with a rework happening in the background)

I'm sure most of their staff are embarrassed by the site but their hands are probably tied with regards to any real improvements that can be made.

That being said, it feels like LEGO by far has the largest disparity between the quality of the site and the size/quality of their brand. I'm hard pressed to think of another large scale online vendor with a site even remotely as fragile frustrating stupid.

I bought up the "going to home page" issue days ago. It had been going on for months now with Chrome and I tried clearing cache after bringing it up here and hearing some responses. The cache clearing still did not help, but it works fine in incognito mode (& IE/Edge), so I finally tried clearing "Cookies and other site and plugin data." Your sites with saved logins will ask to log in again, but if you didn't clear saved passwords, they still still auto-fill.

Well, shoot, I was just about to say that it has been working all fine and dandy today and while I'm typing this, I go to check my order status and it repeatedly kicks me back to the home page. haha Son of a brick. Still an issue.

I am a stupid #&&#^%$&^!

In case anyone ever wondered - Yes, you can cut the legs of a Cloud City Luke with scissors.

I must have looked/sounded very unhappy - my daughter even offered to give me hers.

So please be careful when opening your shipments of rare LEGO.

Same here. It used to be that this only happened once. After being kicked back it usually worked the second time. For a few days now if this happens I have to kill all site cookies to make it work for a little while again. Lego did change something for the worse (or my browser did, hard to say).

I'll add:

Mixed signals from TLG regarding all these sets.

I think they are getting hit with too many orders for items that will likely never be fulfilled - Way too many free Christmas Train sets going out.
