Buying retired sets to enhance the sale of your own retired sets.

Do you guys ever see a decent deal on a retired set on EBay and buy it just to sell with with some other sets you know you'll be selling soon?  I've sold a few lots of certain themes or series of sets on EBay.  It's a pretty good way to go if you want to save on shipping, if you can get your asking price.  Sometimes I see a decent deal on a set I know would go good with a series and I'll snatch it up.  At the least, I know I'll get my money back.

Just curious if anyone else uses this tactic?

Sort of similar to this, if there is a set that I am selling and a listing pops up that is much lower than mine (assuming mine is the second lowest) - I will buy it assuming I can make my money back selling it for what I am selling it at.

For example, I have a large stash of 5888's . I sell them for 54+free shipping. TRU puts one or two up every couple of weeks for $35. I buy them and then continue selling mine.
