cflannagan Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I think those sets (the bigger ones in Friends theme) are rarely discounted Here's the link. Just bought 2 - one will be for our girls, they have a number of other Friends sets too I believe those are good investments. Friends theme are really hot. Should be easy profit around next xmas time too. Quote
cflannagan Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Well, it's 15% off if we go with the current MSRP shown at LEGO.com (MSRP = $74.99). According to Brickpicker.com, MSRP is $69.99, which I guess used to be the MSRP before LEGO.com increased it. Still, I think a 15% discounted (if using $74.99 MSRP), or slightly discounted (if using $69.99 MSRP) "big" Friends set is still pretty good. Quote
littlenicky Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 The MSRP was $69.99 last year. I guess they bumped it. Quote
Veegs Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I noticed many of the '12 sets are now $5.00 more. Is this a common LEGO practice? I haven't really noticed it in any other theme/set before. Quote
Legodog Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I noticed many of the '12 sets are now $5.00 more. Is this a common LEGO practice? I haven't really noticed it in any other theme/set before. I've noticed this too. I have seen at least 3 or 4 sets that the retail price is higher than what is listed on Brickpicker. Did the prices go up or are they entered incorrectly on Brickpicker? Quote
littlenicky Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Just checked multiple websites on the web and it appears that it did go up to $74.99. Even Wally's world has it for $74.xx. So, I guess they decided to bump the price up. Quote
Ed Mack Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I just paid around $68 on Amazon several weeks back for this set and it retailed at the time at $74.99, but I believe the price did go up. Popular set I guess. Quote
cflannagan Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 To clarify, the current Amazon prices has already went back up, now at $69.95. I bought 2 sets earlier today at $63.49. Quote
cflannagan Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Now 15% off again on Amazon.com. $63.50. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Friends-Olivias-House-3315/dp/B005VPRF16/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360330247&sr=8-1&keywords=olivia's+house+lego Quote
Hueypiano Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 later in the day and it's even cheaper, I just got one for 57.00 not including shipping Quote

Ed Mack Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Damn, I got 2 at $63.50. :-/ Good score for you at $57!Pees me off when Amazon drops prices after a real good price is listed, only to lower it further. Sometimes though, Amazon goes back to the regular MSRP when I wait for it to drop again. Quote

nolanfan34 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 its 57 right now i got one I think I'm going to snag one too. Can't believe I'm getting so many Friends sets. Hope you guys are right on this one! Quote
derickb81 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 i wish they would do more bigger sets for friends instead of those these than 100 piece sets that are every where Quote
justgod Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I think these are geared towards younger girls so the sets are smaller. If the sets turn out to be a great success, I think they will start to expand in to larger ones. Just my 2 cents. FYI - Looks like Amazon sold out at this price. Glad I got my 2! Quote
derickb81 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 do you think it'll be harder to store this because of the curvy box Quote
justgod Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 IMO the curve is not significant. I store my sets standing on their sides and then turn the next row up 90 degrees to distribute the weight. The ends never come in to play. I guess if you wanted to stand them on the end they might tip. I don't think there are any sets out there that are hard to store except for all the ridiculous globes (like 9675). Quote
Sauromosis Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That sale didn't last long but thanks anyway. Quote
Legodog Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That sale didn't last long but thanks anyway. Don't worry, I am sure it will be on sale again soon. Quote
Sauromosis Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I hope the Friends line keeps its value, I think it will. I have two girls and they like them. Quote
derickb81 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 if they and more kinds of girls like a tomboy type girl or a rocker it might boost the set Quote
Sauromosis Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Pretty weird bundle thing on Walmart:http://www.walmart.com/ip/Kids-Favorite-Toys-Collection-Your-Pick-for-59/22270701?ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=22270701&sourceid=1500000000000003260420 But you can select Olivia's House, and with store pickup it's only 59 plus tax!
