Overall, it looks pretty intense and like it will be a roller coaster ride that in the end will break apart and leaving you hanging for a year and a half to debate what's next. As for the porgs, the marketing gimmick obviously works, because my little boy only wants lego sets with porgs. We'll have to wait for the movie to see which comes chronologically before the other. And regarding Kylo apparently hesitating in the trailer, before shooting the ship carrying his mother Leia ... I believe it's the trailer trying to deliberately put us on the wrong footing. Maybe he does shoot the ship, destroying it and killing his mother, and that event actually causes an emotional backlash with regret and remorse. It might actually trigger his redemption...
