I am surprised how long this theme has been going on and how many sets it's produced. I for one find the theme rather boring. I don't know, just too common and everyday. Does this theme really sell that well compared to other themes?

Check out this set that is just as old as the Death Star and will not go away!! Police Helicopter (7741) Why is this $10 set still around? Granted, it is good for the price and another Police set but why? Up until the beginning of this year, I could find a number of them on shelves at Target and Walmart, and it is available still at Lego Shop-at-Home. Can anyone help me to understand why the market value for set: 60000-1: Fire Motorcycle, a readily available $6.99 US set, is listed here on brickpicker.com (60000) with a new market value of $21.61 and a CAGR of 209.16% as of today April 5, 2013? I guess I'm trying to understand the maths behind the value number. Thanks in advance for your time... Sorry if it is a lame question.

I have from a fairly good source (not a LEGO store employee) that 60010 is being discontinued because of build issues. http://search2.lego.com/?q=60010〈=2057&cc=US Just a heads up...I've been in several Targets, Wal-Marts, and LEGO stores over the last several days, and haven't seen one of these on shelves. On Amazon they appear to only be from 3rd party sellers at the moment.

I have found 4202 mining truck for 17.49 and 4209 fireplane for 35.99. I looked it up here and they are CAGR -9.2% for the truck and CAGR -15.38% for the plane... Will this still be a good investment?

The new City Mining Collection was just released last week. What are the chances for a non-licensed theme such as this to appreciate in the after market with so many licensed themes coming out at the same time? With LoTR and Monster Fighters both debuting at nearly the same time it seems that the Mining Theme got mostly ignored. I for one like it a lot and plan to get all the sets. I especilly like The Mine (4204) and the large Mining Truck (4202). In general this theme includes minifigs, a variety of interesting vehicles with cool attachments, and an overall fun concept of a gold mine. Since I'm a recent buyer of Lego, I looked for several weeks to pick up a Lego City Fire Station (7208). I thought it would go great with the City Police Station and would be fun to setup and play with my son. I finally found two at Target and was able to pick them up during the BOGO 50% off sale they had a few weeks ago. I've since seen a few people pick them up for 50% off on clearance at Wal-Mart. Now the Lego City Fire Station (60004) is starting to show up at retail. I was surprised to see a new Fire Station set so soon? Hi guys! I have a bunch of mint, sealed road plates from back in 1997... about 25 packs of each of 6321, 6322 and 6323. Each pack has 2 plates in it of either straight, curved or cross section streets with green plate surround (grass) I am not sure of the best way to sell them. I see them average $20-ish per pack on ebay... not many new and sealed. Should I sell them individually? In sets? A bunch at once to save my time? Any advice you have would be much appreciated. Here's a quick list of official airplanes that LEGO has done. Red Baron (set 10024, released 2002) Wright Flyer (set 10124, released 2003) Boeing 787 Dreamliner (set 10177, released 2006) Sopwith Camel (set 3451, released 2001) Sopwith Camel (set 10226, redesign released 2012) I just honestly would like to see more classic airplanes. There certainly is a lot to choose from the first World War alone. I do like some of the airplane designs that have been done for the CREATOR theme, but those don't even come close to an "Ultimate Collector Series" style set based on a real world design. How about you guys?

How does everyone feel about this set as a short/long term investment. It is a cool set but I am not sure how desirable it will be going forward. It was recently retired and has already begun to dry up on the retail market so I would assume secondary market prices will start to fluctuate soon. Interested to hear what you have to say.

Fire and police are two important parts of a city, but if you buy fire boat [for example]. Where do you put it? Same with a police helicopter, if you don't have a landing pad, where do you put it?

Do you think that the new city sets will have a hard time in a couple of years when they pop back up on ebay? Will any of them actually be worth buying into now, or are they something to try to find at a discount? I know that it's sort of risky buying now, just because of the sheer quantity of these sets.
