I am new to LEGO. I have bought maybe six or seven sets. I would like to expand my collection. I want to get bricks that are versatile and can be used in many different ways. I like to make my own creations, so I want to get bricks that will let me create my own ideas and not just variations of the set on the box picture. So my problem is that the sets in store are made mostly to create what's on the box. ( I know they can create more.) And the creative buckets have just square, blockish blocks. Plus the sets don't have the colors I need, or have colors I won't ever use. Mostly I like to make space ships, so green blocks don't look right. Other than buying individua…

This is one of my simple but fun projects that I have my wife for Valentine's Day. Our last name starts with a B. All lego and it has two 5x5 (actually are 5.5x5.5) plaques from Shutterfly in it. Yes I superglued it (almost a sin I know). Found the lego minifigure bodies to match what we were wearing and our son. Then had heads 3D printed.

Hello all, I am not so active anymore in the LEGO community. But I have seen this project started at kickstarter named Lightstax. It needs funding for the creation of lightning lego pieces, lamps and stuff. It looks impressive and would really enhance my Modular Buildings. I have pledged this project already. See the kickstarter project here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brandtraders/light-stax-toy-bricks-meet-led Kind regards, Deejay

I am working on the Assault on Hoth set and should be done with it shortly. I am looking for ideas on how to display this set. While this set gets a lot of flack for any number of reasons, I think if done correctly it can be a very visually appealing display set. If anyone has any ideas on how they displayed it, or even if you don't own it but have ideas, they would be much appreciated. As of now I am not looking to display it with any other sets(though the fact it's so short on snowtroopers bugs me) so it will just be this set. Thanks!

Has anyone's kids entered the LEGO Friends design contest? Our son made two entries and he is super proud of them! The roof on the mountain lodge is questionably stable, but he managed to make it work well enough! If you want to head over to his entries and give them a thumbs up or a comment, he's loving reading the comments We'd love to see your kiddo's designs too! Since I am a broke highschooler, I rarely ever buy/get lego sets outside of the occasional Christmas or birthday, so I have learned how to work with what I have. One of my favorite hobbies is stop motion, so I use different parts of different minifigures to make the characters that I want. Here are a few that I have recently made: Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I would also really like to see any other "makeshift figs" any of you all have created![emoji1] EDIT: The 4 figures are Black Panther, Apocalypse, Luke Skywalker, and The Winter Soldier

Last week the news was all abuzz regarding the new star wars toys. That got the new movie on my mind and all the wonderful ships in the show. Thought I would do a little rendition of a ship that is little recognized, but one of my favorites nonetheless. See more pics and information at http://mocpages.com/moc.php/419160

Just started building 10240-1 and found a piece from the stand that was basically flying around in the box and not in any of the numbered bags. Is this normal?

Yup. Thanks to various Craigslist purchases made this year I've had to tear-down way more sets than I've built. Like um... probably 40 sets torn down to 4 built. I feel much shame.... The other confession is that I like it. I do it while watching Netflix and there's something oddly satisfying about it. And I'm a wee bit anal about it too. I follow the instructions in reverse and create the same bag layout to make it feel like the set is new for whoever builds it next (hopefully me). Plus it helps me identify any missing or incorrect pieces that I need to bricklink. The next step will be to switch from hand-writing the bag numbers to using a label maker. :-…

I'm on the planning stages of getting my Technic Arocs RC'ed, but having never worked with IR receivers as of yet, I am not sure how they work. Do they have to be visible or "within sight" from the controller's viewpoint all the time? Would hiding it inside the cab make transmission issues?

No one needs the machine! Since I found the construction exciting, I built the machine. But you shouldn't look too long at the middle that it has a hypnotic effect! Have fun https://youtu.be/Fpsn7HLn4XY

Recently I began exploring building sets virtually to determine if the set is worth the build value for my own desire and potentially reading into my buyer base. Here is what I do: I downloaded LEGO Digital Designer and found some instructions from sets. I have built all the Star Wars potentials and the DC and Marvel items and have found something interesting. I have discovered bricks that are new and kind of exclusive! It is fun to see that Lego has many custom bricks which has in my opinion increased the desire in the set. I also decided to design some CUUSOO projects and looked over the CUUSOO sight and what is in the works. They have some very cool ideas …

Technic 42009 is a wonderful set. Many Technic fans think it may be the best Technic set ever (opinion). Lots of things that can be done to it. I bought several a few years ago, and out of them produced a version of the Liebherr 1500 8.1. Recently I took it out and played with it and was able to make it lift a heavier version of the 8070 supercar (my own modifications of it). That is one thing I love about Technic; models can replicate the real thing and actually function at least similar to the real thing (in this case, replicating the "Y" guy arrangement allowed it to lift much more that without the "Y" guy arrangement). Again, just like the real thing. Perhaps n…

This is a great article and video posted on the home page here at BP (from the Brick Blogger): http://thebrickblogger.com/2015/10/lego-africa-first-time-playing-with-lego/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thebrickblogger+(TheBrickBlogger) My five year-old son and I are going to send a box to this program. He is so "over-privileged" when it comes to the amount of Lego toys in our home. Watching this video makes him understand how lucky he is and it's amazing to me how much he wants to share and help kids who don't have Legos. I hope some of you will donate as well. This is guaranteed to give you lots of good karma for the upcoming holi…

Hi. I finally managed to build my EV3 omni/holonimic telerobot with anti collision-system. If you drive to close to anything it stop and reverse a bit, if needed. Sensitivity and reverse is adjustable. I will equippe them with laser tag weapons and laser aim system and so on. It can be remote controlled over the internet with live camera stream, so it is a internet camera robot, (that moves like a computer avatar in FPS computer game). It can be controlled over the internet from a mobile phone, ipad or computer, from a browser. I plan to build a internet game so that you can log in to robots and have a game with them like in https://www.isot…

This is my first build that I will share with you! The M:Tron Mining Base! The Story The mine supplies the galaxy with all the Brickonium found in these mountains. The base has operated for quite some time now without any Blacktron interference. The Classic Space Command Center has sent a Galaxy Explorer to check up and make sure everything is running smoothly. The magnetic crane is loading the freighter with the precious crystal, as the satellite towers control air flight and help the freighters leave the atmosphere safely. The Build The build took me about 25 to 30 hours to complete over the course of 10 to 12 days. I had a blast! The mountain scape was slightly diffic…
