So guys im buying some lego with the purpose of keeping it brand new and sealed and unused to sell for a profit about 1 or 2 years afters its discontinued. Would opening the box decrease the value? I assume it would but then i think of what if the box is missing people and you sell it to somebody after its been discontinued and they cant get replacement parts or instructions from lego anymore? Could it somehow be smarter to build the lego once then bag it up again just to ensure everything is there? If anybody has experience in this please let me know your thoughts and what i should do. Thanks

Hello, I am helping my son sell of his LEGO collection. It is mostly City sets with some others. We have all the manuals but the bricks are mixed together so won't split. These sets have generally been assembled once and then disassembled. They should be complete but I can't guarantee. I would say it is realistic to expect that most sets are complete but some may have a piece or three missing! Manuals are mostly ok but some have loose pages and dog ears on the corners. Below you will find a word document with a list of the sets. The price next to each set is what I could find the sets available for at the low end on ebay in boxed/unused condition. The price…

Hello all, first time posting on this forum, just thought I'd share something interesting. Was just browsing through all the different online Lego shops, checking on the status of Delorean and excl ed. 4x4 crawler order availability in the different countries, went onto the NZ Lego site - crawler retail price is $299 NZD - OK, fair enough - then saw the Delorean going for $53.99 NZD, which is about 30% cheaper than $69.99 AUD on the Aus Lego shop, after conversion! Not sure if it's a pricing error, but If you've got family or contacts in NZ - maybe worth ordering through them at this price.

Hi everyone, I just have a question which I hope fellow aussies might be able to provide some insight. Whenever there is a new Ideas set that come out on LEGO Shop at Home, does it always appear on the shelves of Australia retailers such as Myer, DJ, TRU and toyworld etc a few months later? Reason I am asking is that I don't like the price of the new BBT set on LEGO Shop at Home but yet not sure whether it will appear in shops here. I don't remember seeing the Birds Ideas set in store, and of course the RI is very much short live in existence. Ecto 1 is still around and so on. We all know what happened to Exo suits mania. Even if it come in, the BBT set might not last …

Not a deal, but just a shout-out to fellow Brickpickers in Australia, especially VIC and NSW, to be on the lookout for these Lego thieves. Seems like a well organized and smart bunch that are only targeting Lego, and are hitting the independent toy shops like Toy World. For the Lego experts (whom most of you are) - probably shouldn't be too difficult to spot the 'signs'....hopefully they get shut down soon - Lego theft on a large scale with obvious intent to sell, and hitting the smaller businesses does not sit well with me at all. http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/stacks-stolen-as-lego-heists-top-30k-and-span-two-states-20140603-39fd4.html

I will soon relocate from Lego heaven America to expensive Australia. Just wondering if there are Lego user groups as well? Maybe one way to get affordable Lego for bigger projects. Will move to Sydney.

I'm new to this forum, so please excuse me if my questions has been answered somewhere else. I'm compiling a spreadsheet of all of the sets I've bought in the last few years, so I can compare how much I spent on them with the Australian RRP to figure out how much I've saved/overspent, and if I decide to sell any of my collection, I can keep track of the profit/loss I made on each set. I only found out about this site recently, so I realise that I could do a similar thing with the brickfolio, although I'm having issues with the bulk import from Brickset, as it is importing the prices as USD, not AUD (I'm not sure if this is just a display issue or an actual bug…

Hey. So some of you may remember me from awhile ago, I was one of the people in Perth WA during the BigW sale who went to almost every store and purchased all of there UCS Sandcrawlers. My plan was to hold it for 2 years then sell, but as i am travelling indefinately abroad, and finding myself wanting to invest in something else, i have decided to try to find a bulk buyer who will buy all my lego units so i can use the money to invest elsewhere. I have around 5-6 75059 Sandcrawlers left, but i have also some other smaller and larger sets. Here is a small example. 75135 Star WarsObi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor x6 75136 Star WarsDroid Escape Pod x2 75060 Star …

Hello Australian brickpicker fans Just wondering if everyone is up to date on what the toy sales have to offer this year. Kmart - a joke with no real toy sale to speak of. Toy World - do not waste your time BigW - Not a bad selection with a few select items on sale below RRP (LOTR and Iron man) Target - A nice selection of some exclusive sets namely R2D2, police station and 20% off all lego Toys R Us - Good selection but most sets are retail prices of just below. Myer - Some fantastic sets and hard to find ones at that below RRP, ie Horizon Express, Sopwith Camel, Volkswagen T1 Camper van and Mini modular sets to name a few plus 20% off retail pri…

Just saw this at my local Myer, apparently it started on 30th Oct and will end on Sunday 3rd November. Buy any 2 toys and get the 2nd toy at 60% discount. (So that would work out to be 30% discount each assumining that you bought 2 similar price toys) 2nd toy of course will have to be equal or cheaper than the other toy. As a point of reference, i saw the TB at AUD$399 so if i get 2 TB it will cost me AUD $399 for one and the other for AUD$159.60. Divide equally each TB cost only $279.30. Happy shopping! :D

Has anyone ever bought lego directly from their official website? I want to ask some few questions about it. For example, the price at checkout says 199 + free shipping. Will there be any tax or other costs once it's delivered? Will it really be $199? Also for the double point, it can be redeemed only at the next purchase right? I'm it is, then many sets are pretty attractive since some are cheaper or not available here.

They have finally added it officially to their list! You save around AUD 80 and there might only be 1 - 2 sets in each store. If you are keen suggest buying it online. http://www.toysrus.com.au/lego/lego-creator-sydney-opera-house/w1/i5126608_1181094/

Thought I'll start a new thread to discuss buying from overseas. As I get most of my stock, sets locally, the only experience I have buying overseas are for polybags from brick link and they have been all good so far. I know some of the more senior Aussie brickpicker have experience buying overseas. Care to share? Thanks.

Does anyone have any tips to share on the selling of larger sets? I am very over Australia Post and the ridiculous fees they charge. It just cost me $42 to post an Epic Dragon Battle as they refused to class it by weight. I am seriously over them, and just thinking more and more about using custom boxes and a courier company. Surely it cannot be any worse off? I can honestly get sets imported for cheaper than what this rip off crew charge.

Do you Aussies ever try selling any of your sets to the US or other countries on say US Ebay? Have you found any local deals on sets that would make doing so profitable? I found quite a few 9465 Zombies sets recently at a local discount that makes the current US price of $115 plus decently profitable. Have also tried selling a 10187 Beetle. I'm looking forward to the new Brick Classifieds getting up and running as I think it could open up the ease of entry into overseas markets a little.

Good afternoon brains trust. Just had my first buyer put their address as a Click & Collect from Big W. I often use Sendle for parcels as they're cheaper than Aus Post in a lot of cases. Has anyone used them for a click and collect order?

Hi all. New to Australia and looking for info regarding shipping items. A few questions I can think of: Can I print my own shipping labels? If so, is it cheaper, more expensive or the same? Is using Aus Post boxes ever a cheaper way of doing it? There’s a couple of sets that will fit nicely in the medium box, but box plus shipping appears to be in the $15 range. If I sell on eBay, is purchasing shipping through them cheaper than going through Aus Post? Is there a carrier that beats Aus Post? Like, maybe in certain situations? Is there a good supplier of boxes for shipping that I should know of? I appreciate any help you guys an…
