My litte bro here is telling me that a lot of the people on here have complaints about at least one of the new sets. I just want to hear what they are. Yes I don't think that the sets are perfect but then again what sets are? So just post what you think and why you think what you think about the NEW sets. whiteboy02 now feels like he shouldn't get any of them because you guys don't think they're good sets, that's just what he said. So give him som incouragement and tell him that if he likes the set, then he should buy the set. Thanks guys!

Does anyone think that there will ultimately be a Galadriel set for Lego LOTR? Maybe one with her and the mirror with a Frodo (with alternate shocked face version)? She's my favorite female in the series. Cate Blanchett will then be the second Oscar-nominated actress to have to minifigures in her likeness (the other the villain from IJ: Crystal Skull). Of course Helena Bonham Carter has minifigs of her likeness as Bellatrix and Red Harrington.

I bought 6 of these at 50% and was wondering what to do with them. Every store I go into has always had a ton of them so I know they don't sell that well, but at 50% and next week 70% of I had to grab some. I like a lot of the pieces in the set like the columns and the chairs. It also has white arches which you don't see too often. I think the playability of these is poor which is why they aren't selling but parting or just using for MOC's could they be a winner?

So as the thread suggest, I would love your vote on which set do you think it will appreciate the most and wil lget best CAGR or annual growth. I personally think 1. Helms Deep (because it is castle type) 2. Orc Forge (Exclusive and Orthanc is being released) 3. Mines of Moria (granted we do not get armored trolls and another Boromir and possibly Balrog*** (hopefully))

I started a project over the holidays with my son. We decided to start building scenes from each of the six tolkien films into modularized sets of about 4 to 5 baseplates each. All of those plates will be modularized for easier transport and use technic pins.. This will probably take me 2 to 3 years to do all six scenes, and require a lot of different parts, and techniques to build them, since all six scenes will be different and showcase different sets. We started with "An unexpected Journey. There were 4 sets from that film made by lego (Unexpected Gathering, Gobling King Battle, Riddles for the RIng, and Attack of the Wargs). I figured, we could combine 3 of …

I'm faced with a dilemma and I need some advice. I'm looking to buy the Mines of Moria (9473) to complete my LOTR collection. Right now I could buy it through Lego for about $80 and get the Jor El minifig, or...I could also buy it through Amazon for $62 and save $18. Should I buy it through Amazon or Lego? I guess the real question would be- is the Jor El minifigure worth it?

I heard that a Lord of the rings Minas Tirith set is coming out sometime this spring. The price is gonna be about $120. I am really disappointed. Am I the only one. I was hoping for a 4000 piece set with many minifigs. I was thinking of contacting lego. Sent from my iPod touch using Brickpicker

I'm quite heavily invested in these. Just wondering who else is. I have at least 10 of Helm's Deep, Weathertop, Orc Forge and Uruk-hai Army, and at least 4 of Moria, Shelob and Gandalf. Most were bought at 20-30% discount on UK RRP.

So a walmart near me had An Unexpected Gathering's at $33.00 which is a very good price. Needless to say I cleaned them out of mint ones. However they have two left that are pretty beat up. They are intact as far as I can tell, but the boxes are really bad. So I am thinking about getting them and parting them out. I have never parted out a set so I am a little nervous about trying it. From looking at ebay sold listings it looks to be a profitable endeavor but I am not sure. Was wondering what everyone thinks on this and if there is anything I should be wary of. Thanks guys, - Vince

Evem at 30% off. I've stumbled across a bunch of Escapes, Attack of Wars, Unexpected Gathering, Riddle for the Ring and Goblin King Battle at 30% off. Picked up some but I'm returning them all minus the 2 Riddle for the Ring I bought. Also not a believer in Mines of Moria. I will probably keep 1 for myself but the rest are going back. Even at 30%.

According to Amazon, they are 22,9 x 18,9 x 3,6 in inches or 57,8 x 47,8 x 9,4 in cm. Which would be the same as palace cinema for example. Is there someone who has this set that can confirm those are accurate? I'm in Seattle a couple of days next week and thinking of picking one up, which would save me about $80 compared to buying it here. Wondering if this thing would fit into my suitcase. Thanks for looking!

So, I'm only missing Gandalf Arrives, Orc Forge and Uruk Hai Army to complete my LOTR first wave collection. I can get all of these at retail at this point. I am not really sure if I should wait for a sale on these since they are not the most important sets (Orc Forge I'll probably buy at retail since I don't see it being discounted) or just buy them now before they are EOL. What do you suggest? Thanks (Couldn't find an existing thread where this would be appropriate, but feel free to move it if there is one)

Everybody, including me, is pumped about the UCS Orthanc, but what else do you guys think should be given the UCS treatment? At the top of my list would be a Bag-end, Barad-dur, mummakil, and maybe a brick-build Narsil or Anduril. Busts of characters such as Sauron, Frodo, Aragorn and the Witch King of Angmar would be awesome as well. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure how long lego is going to keep its liscensing agreement for LOTR / Hobbit, but these are sets that need to happen before it is all over: Balrog / Bridge of Kazad Dum: Brick built balrog and a collapsing bridge would be awesome. This was rumored to be happening in this wave and going to be priced at $30. I would much rather see a more expensive set and include some Moria scenery: maybe some columns and a partially collapsed staircase? The focus needs to be on the bridge. I guess Gandalf is a must in this set, but he's been a little overused. Eowyn vs. the Witch King: the nazgul need to appear in at least one other set and having one plus its beast an…
