Odds & Ends

So my LEGOLAND has a rule that you have to have a child with you to enter the park. While I see the safety precaution behind this....what about the AFOL who wants to go but has no kids....seems a bit discriminatory. Thoughts??

Just got back from NYCC. Had a lot of fun, picked up some nice exclusives. Did anyone else make it? Jeff and Ed are fairly close, did either of you go?

Do you thing that this and other secondary market LEGO related sites have people from TLG that are "undercover" to see what is going on? Maybe to see what the trends are? Just curious.......maybe that is why the DS will never EOL, because we (well me) are always talking about it lol. I am sure they have people that browse the sites, but to go as far as one of them creating a profile and interacting with us....who knows???

Just curious, how does Lego go about production of the actual pieces? Once the molds have been made they can crank out as many pieces as they need. The only decision is colors and quantities of each. I also imagine they have numerous molds of the same pieces so they can run multiples simultaneously as well in different manufacturing plants. The logistics of how many of one piece, what colors, how many different piece types that need to be made (on a continual basis) is quite fascinating when you think about it. How much surplus brick stock is in inventory at any given time ? Then there is the sorting and the bagging and the packaging. The actual machine…

I recently found out on the Ellen show in youtube that the new Laker player Dwight Howard is obsessed with Lego.

As of two years ago today, Daniel Jezek, the founder and creator of the website, BrickLink, had passed away at the age of 33. Here is the link to the "In Memoriam" page. Whether you love it or hate it, there is no denying the kind of impact he and his website has had on the brick community as a whole. From buying numerous sets (brand new or discontinued), to purchasing individual parts and/or minifigures, even rare exclusives given at LEGO stores 'grand openings

I didn't see this posted on here yet, so I wanted to post a link to it. I thought this was very creative of LEGO to do and taught me a bit about the history.

But I'm talking about real human furniture, like a small table. No sofas please Any idea on how to do this? I know that they usually buy a table to use as base and the cover it with pieces. Do you use glue? Any comments/suggestions? Wifey and I are looking into this very seroiusly.

I would agree! I love the history behind Lego and all the great high quality images! I have purchased several other Lego books because of this reason.
