  1. I just added a few of my recent investments to the portfolio. I cannot believe the amount. I am running out of space. Selling has begun on a minimal basis and so far has been highly profitable. I chose well and my net rates of return are fantastic, compared to anything in the markets. Here is to saving all the dang shipping boxes and packing material. I am not crazy after all. In terms of big boys, I sure hope the remaining slow sets retire. That being Death Star, Tower Bridge, T1 Camper Van, Orthanc, Ewok Village, PS. IF these will sail away to never return, my portfolio should see about a 25% increase in value next year, maybe more. In this game, choosing wise…

Thought these were pretty cool. I don't have the drill bit to make the round parts, but build looks pretty nice. http://www.instructables.com/id/Mystery-Lego-Storage-Box/

Hi all, Don't know if this is the right place to post this. But I just made my very first sale! Flipped a Mos Eisley for $501 on eBay. I started out with an investment of $2,000 to get my feet wet and explore this as a hobby. I'll report back with all my noobie mistakes and ROI when I've sold them all!

  6. I know that I'm a little late for Christmas, but I have received a number of questions about great gifts for LEGO Architecture enthusiasts, and I thought that fellow Brickpicker readers might be interested as you wrap-up your holiday gift shopping. Naturally, I included my favorite LEGO Architecture & related sets, as they make fantastic gifts. At this point, my Splurge suggestion is the Parisian Restauraunt, my midrange pick is the US Capitol Building, and my budget pick is the Berlin Skyline set. (The 2017 Skylines also look very interesting and I hope I can recommend them for holiday 2017.)A few of my gift ideas for LEGO Architecture enthusiasts.I also wanted t…

Taking the family for a weekend in London on the 10th May and me and my son are swinging by the Lego show at the O2 Arena when the girls go shopping. Shame a ticket only gets you a 3hr slot for the show but me and the boy are going to make the most of it. Anyone else going??? Cheers.

  13. While I'm an undisputed "Lifetime LEGO Lover", I just visited Billund for the first time as part of the Fan Media Days event. My Impressions: Billund is a magical town where the bakery is perfect, the streets are clean and freshly paved, and everyone you meet is wearing the classic Minifigure smile. The town of Billund is quite literally LEGO land — the center of town where City Hall used to be has even been replaced by the magnificent LEGO House! Don't forget the very first LEGOLAND theme park, as well as the headquarters of the LEGO Group. The highlight for me was definitely the new LEGO House. It is architecturally interesting, and it's an amazing am…

Do any of you ever buy the mysterious "x" number of lbs grab bags of miscellaneous lego parts? What are your thoughts on these mystery bags ? I have scoured some of the thrift stores in my area and while I have turned up a huge amount of sets I have found some rather interesting finds a few months back I picked up 8 bags of legos at a good will for $45 and I think there may have been an old star wars tie fighter in the bag. A Friend of mine went to a good will and picked up two huge bags of legos one had a super star destroyer kit or a least part of it , and the other bag her scored had a star wars AT Walker kit in it both bags cost him less than $30. So your opinions f…

My Wife: "Ok it's Friday night. How much did you spend on Legos this week?" Me: "Well, technically, I think it's 'Lego'. I don't think you pluralize it." My Wife: "Really? Like how the plural form of 'moose' is also 'moose' and not 'mooses' or 'meese' or something?" Me: "Yeah, I think so." My Wife: "Okay, well how much did you spend on Lego this week?" Me: "I'd prefer to think about it in terms of how much I SAVED on Lego this week." My Wife: .... (eyes narrowing) .... "I'm going to Lululemon. I'll be back in an hour." Me: "Yeah that's probably fair." My Wife: "And you're watching Miss America with me on Sunday night. But we can play a drinking game. You have to take a s…

  18. The discussion in the Walmart Clearance thread about 60139 got me thinking - What are some of the longest set production runs for Non-Exclusives/Architecture etc? Also going to exclude Duplo and the standard LEGO blocks (classic) here. 3 years is long, but not long enough to make this list I imagine. I'm looking for stuff out at least 3.5+. I remember Batcave 6860 being out about 3 years... 3 that hit me pretty quickly from the last 5 years or so - 60139 - City: Police Mobile Police Center. Released Jan 2017, Still in production now. 4.5 years. 31058 - Creator: Mighty Dinosaurs. Released Nov 2016, still in Production now. (Coming up on 5 years) Ha…

My brother sent me this link in his local Craiglist universe: http://allentown.craigslist.org/wan/3700050483.html I'm sure there are a few people here that can appreciate an ad like this. Maybe I should set up my own post if this actually works... In my own local Craigslist universe: http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/tag/3701222921.html It looks like there are some Lego in there and a lot of assorted weirdness. Feel free to ad your own Craiglist listings that make a person do a double take.

  24. Hi all, I wanted to get word out about a Lego Kickstarter project that is being run by my friend Nile and I for a build taking place at the World War Brick Minneapolis 2016 convention June 10th-12th. Here is a part of our description on Kickstarter. "For this WWB event the group has decided on recreating a duel between two tanks in Cologne Germany that was actually videotaped! The two tanks involved were the infamous German Panther and a US M26 Pershing Heavy tank. Check out the Youtube video link below! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBI9d0-IfEM Picture Of The Entire Diorama (It is about 3 feet wide and 4 feet in length…
