  3. Hi all, used to be a relatively active member of the forums back on its early years, but at this point it seems like it's been over 3 years since I actually posted anything - how time flies... Anyway, it's great to see how much the site has grown and changed over the years and although I never completely stopped checking it out, I am really looking forward to getting back into spending some more time in here going through all the great new content! To all of the familiar faces, it's great to see you and can't wait to interact with you again. And to all of the new faces, it's nice to meet you!

  4. Hi everyone, So hopefully this isn’t a stupid question or a very bad mistake that I’ve made, but basically I am not sure what the best way to manage cash is when buying new sets. For example, if I decide to buy some sets right now, I will most likely use whatever is in my PayPal balance, which is mostly money from eBay sales, however I’m worried that I’ve messed up because I feel like I’m just reusing the profits and buy in money to buy new sets to resell. Reusing the buy in money is fine as that is the initial money I’ve put forward right? Example: I buy a set for $50, sell it for $100. I have made a $50 profit, so do I safe that or split it? If I saved ha…

Hi! Here's my scenario. My son went off to college, and he had A LOT of LEGO sets. Before he left, we stored them in boxes and placed them in a safe storage compartment. Just for fun, I looked up what some of his sets could go for, compared to what we bought them for, and I was shocked to discover that some of them are worth 5x-8x what I purchased them for. I'm looking for a place online to track the total net worth of the entire LEGO portfolio. I read that BrickPicker has a great place on it's website for just what I'm looking for, the "Brickfolio", I believe is what it's called. I read some forums and it looks like the Brickfolio is being updated at the moment…

I'm pretty much brand new to brick picking. I got into it when I found a couple of nice Star Wars sets at a second hand store and looked up their values. I guess I always new that the bricks had value, but the idea of attempting to figure out if they were complete was off-putting. However, I realized that brick picking fits nicely with my current addiction to board game collecting (1000 games and counting!). Since then I've found some great deals for legos including a few free curbside pickups (one yesterday had 100 minifigs) and a like new 6073. I find the thrill of looking through large lots for pieces to be one of the main draws for me at this point. Thanks!

Hi all! Greetings from Italy. I am an adult fan of Lego, today experiencing a new "spring" due to my son. I would be happy if I could understand how to invest in Lego, namely how to discover which set will gain value during years, for example such as 75919, for example. I am still trying to understand how this set has now 3 times his original value. Mystery of bricks... Ciao. Roberto.

Hello, Joined the site earlier this month, and looking to learn more about investing in LEGO! I’ve been a LEGO fan my whole life but ever since I had kids, my love for it has reignited tremendously. I started lurking on sites like this looking for good deals, and have made a few dollars so far selling on EBay. Recently I’ve been building up inventory and am probably about 15-20k into it. looking forward to learning and engaging with the Brick Picker community!

Hey guys Just a quick hello, new to this forum having been an AFOL since 2018, had a long dark age of over 20 years. Wanted to say hello from the UK and also share a youtube channel I set up during covid to give me something to do lego wise whilst the delivery of bricks slowed down. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLvm88QwI0GgPisP4lKtqvw I've built my own city and I design MOCs - be great to hear from other AFOL's especially those near London, UK.

  18. Hello everyone. I thought I should introduce myself, so here I am. Like many new AFOLs, the Lockdown has led me to a current state of Lego obsession. Having just caught up with logging my sets on Brickset I see that in just over 2 months I have bought 71 sets at a rate of exactly 1 set a day. Perhaps I have an obsessive personality? Star Wars was my gateway drug (75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle) but I have now included various sets from Ideas, Creater Expert (RIP), Architecture, TLM1 and 2, and Monkie Kid. I have Modulars backordered (I kind of hope I don't like them so I don't feel the need to collect them all). Sets now range from 30340 Emmet's 'Piece' Offering …

Hi all, I've been lurking for a couple of years in the forum and have always wondered when I would start seriously selling my legos (~1k plus sets big and small). I started selling in Switzerland since Oct last year and the recent coronavirus bump started making me think about doing this more seriously. I do have an idea of what works here (Technic, Architecture, Speed Champions, Creator Expert, some Ideas sets) and am now started to look more carefully into other themes such as Friends and Minecraft and their investment potential. Personally I also collect Star Wars however they don't move so quickly here but it's possible to sell for a premium if the buy in is righ…

Hey, Just want to introduce myself quickly. I'm from sunny England and have been a big fan of Lego since I was a kid. I've been trying to get my children into Lego to use them as an excuse to buy more but its not working. We went to Legoland Denmark last year and visited the Lego House and really enjoyed it. I think me and my wife had more fun than the kids. My wife was recently looking on Amazon and she came across the Lego Friends Central Perk set (21319) and asked me if it would be a good investment to buy to hold onto for a future date. This then got me thinking about investing in Lego. I also saw someone on youtube who had The Simpsons house set (71006) whi…

Hello all, Relatively new to the world of buying and selling Legos. I decided to join this forum because I am currently trying to sell a large collection of used Lego sets in boxes with instructions. I have about a hundred sets I'm trying to sell. So far I've explored selling on eBay and r/Legomarket (if anyone has feedback on the latter it would be much appreciated). With these the goal is more about moving units as opposed to getting the best price, because space has become a real issue. Trying to get some general advice because once I've offloaded some of this collection, I'd like to get into investing in a few new sets and preserving them as NIB. I have a few bur…
