Hey there, Just was looking at this site because I bought some new Star Wars LEGO sets on Friday (Millenium Falcon and Rey's Speeder) and I thought I would track what I buy so I can figure out what to keep unopened, what to build with my kids and what to buy 2 of so I can do both .

Hi All, Just dropping in to say Hi, been lurking on the site for a while and thought I'd join in on the forums. About me, I'm in my late 20's and a collector of the Lego Star Wars sets. Been collecting them since the Millennium Falcon came out and just had to have it! It's been a crazy ride since then and my hip pocket has never forgiven me. Cheers guys.

  3. When I rediscovered Lego and started to build, making my own creations I noticed the healthy and positive effect it had on me. Thoughts seem to be less active. It gives you an activity when lifes giving you some difficulties. The care for minifigs, the houres of searching which fig is which, the catogorisation,... it works and I recommend this to everybody! It has a significant positive therapeutic effect on the health. Other people experiencing the same effect? Last weekend I bought a Lego canteen for my 3 year old daughter and the smile was bigger than the Lego head on the bottle :-). We just want the best for our family and ourselfs! I'm also thinking about making good…

Hi guys, I'm SrQueimado (MrBurns in english :P), I'm 29 years old and I'm a new member of this awesome site. I was searching for some good investments in banks, auctions and that kind of things but I was unhappy with all of them, then I found an article about investing in LEGO that fascinated me. I always loved LEGO and still buy it for me and my dad, now I will invest in it too. If you guys and staff don't mind I ask a doubt here: today I bought 5 sets from a store, they are sealed and the boxes are in perfect condition, which option shall I choose: MISB or NISB? Thank you very much SrQueimado

Just wanted to say howdy I am a new member here have been playing with Legos for 30yrs collecting for the last 10ish just went to brick fest in Denver this weekend and they had mini figures I have selling for $50 I know Lego goes up in value most the time but had no idea that any of it would go up like that so thought maybe it's time to sell some of my extras. Plus that gives me more money to buy more Legos and how could that be bad! Anyway just wanted to say hi and figure as I think this site will be a good resource for me.

Hi from Jacksonville, Florida. Been collecting Legos for a few years now but just got around to posting on Brickpicker. I have hundreds of new sets sealed, various from Star Wars to City. I like building custom sets and my last endeavor was the Star ship enterprise. Came out pretty good but needs some tweeking. I also built a lamp with one of the new movie themes. It is not glued. and is inside a glass base. The lamp shade is also made of legos and it is a custom made house. Will post some pictures when I have more times. Also have hundreds of used sets and a lot of star wars. I have about a hundred thousand parts and about five hundred minifigs. Hope to be around …

Hi Everyone I'm a fan of the original all black Blacktron figures (pretty obvious) and I enjoy collecting the mini-figures in general. However I am interested in getting hold of some city sets, some of which have recently been "retired" Not much else to say, except I am a freelance illustrator by trade and thanks for reading!

I have been a member of this site for a while now primarily to track the value of my sets although I have been fairly active on the EB SW and Technic forums. I initially started with a Red Five X-Wing when it came out and several thousand dollars later I have all of the UCS except Yoda, Darth, and the MF... I also have many of the flagship Technic sets including the ultimate 8043 MOD. My only Lego regret is not picking up the 10179 when it was still below $1000. What I enjoy most about UCS and large Technic sets is that I can with enjoy them with little risk of not receiving some type of return on investment. My favorite Lego MOC builders are Anio and Jurgen Krooshoop.

Hello everyone, I am a 28 years old lego fan and I sort of had the "illumination" of investing in lego sets the other night, only to find out minutes later that you guys are already here doing just that! Well, I still have all of my sets of city/technic since I was a kid, and a couple of years ago I bought the motorised excavator after years of not playing with lego. I'll fill out my portfolio on the site. Some questions/opinions: As far as investing goes, what do you think would be the best among these: - Mobile crane Mk II - Mercedes Arocs truck - 42042 crawler crane - Volvo front loader The mobile crane and Mercedes Arocs are my favourite from a "kid" point of v…

  10. Hi guys, i'm new to Brick Picker and am hoping someone can help me with a specific model i'm looking for... I believe it was called Super Helicopter Transporter or something like that, it was an early nineties model which retailed for about £80ish at the time I think. It consisted of a large American style truck cab, a trailer and of course a helicopter, all in black/red. Of all my Lego from my childhood this was my most precious but for some idiot reason I sold it when I was at Uni about 10 years ago. I would love to get my hands on another one, hopefully the price isn't too mental now! Any help identifying the model number is greatly appreciated

Hello, my name is Matthew. I grew up building Bionicle sets and also plan to invest in Bionicle toys from 2001-2010. Which condition should the Bionicle toys be in? New or used? I plan on buying some from Amazon for the lowest price possible.

I'm approaching my anniversary on Brickpicker, and wanted to share a few things I've learned over the last year. For full disclosure, I wasn't new to Lego reselling when I joined, but I had just started accumulating sets again for the first time in four or five years. I'll (try to) keep it simple: 1. This site, it's forums, and most members, are wonderful resources for those willing to listen. I'm very thankful for the Macks, mods, and veterans for what they are willing to share. I've learned the value of discount gift cards, Target RC magic online, "rollovers" (buying gift cards with gift cards), "slow and steady wins the race," and more. 2. It's not about you. Or me. Or…

Hello, everybody. So apparently, my Lego hobby began some time a few weeks ago when I helped with the Legos that my best friend had deep within his closet. Long story short, I decided it would be a great hobby for himself and for myself personally, just so that I can try to begin another hobby. After hours and hours of hard-earned dedication and effort into building my friend a Lego airship without actually using any manuals. Though I have not actually built any Legos in my childhood because of too much hard work, I actually completed it in my friend's room that was so hot in the summer time. After arriving home from his house, I asked my mother if it would be okay to m…

  15. Hello everyone. Like many I have returned to a childhood love in adulthood now my son is old enough to enjoy lego and Star Wars. I'm totally obsessed. Already purchased 3 Collectors Sets in 3 weeks (X wing, Tie Fighter and Slave 1) and several smaller sets. Really interested in the investment opportunities and looking at good value older sets that will appreciate. Wish I had started a family 5 years earlier and I would probably be the proud owner of the Collectors edition Millennium Falcon. Constantly wondering if can justify spending 3-4 grand on one. It should keep its value..... do you think it will keep going up? Interesting to see the new Millennium Falcon release w…

Hi all, Been lurking here for a bit. Pretty much an AFOL that has to deal with the wife since I'm buying too much LEGO . Was playing LEGO when I were small but decided to buy the Lamborghini LEGO back in 2010 and the hobby started again from there. Got into mini dark ages around 2013-2014 (caused me to buy the Town Hall for almost double the price of MSRP) and also have good amount of sealed exclusives in the basement to fund this expensive hobby along the line. These are the pics of my collection displayed in the living room (Tumbler, Simpsons House, Sopwith not pictured). Still looking for some space for SOH. The Statue of Liberty ("Hulk" version using lime bri…

Hi Folks I actually stumbled across this site having seen an article in Blocks magazine. To cut a long story short I have only recently started looking at Lego from an investment perspective. My son has always been an avid builder of Lego and has numerous sets which he used to build, then sell in order to get some new ones. However he is now at university, Lego has always interested me so here I am. I think I am a collector at heart Here is where I need some help as I do not really have any direction as I just tend to buy what appeals to me.....I.e. What I would buy on the secondary market if that makes sense? Therefore the current themes that I like are Star Wars…

Hi everyone! I've recently started to trade bricks and happened to find this site. Some really valuable information here! I live in Taiwan and due to the different currency the price of Lego sets can be a bit weird. Sometimes I could get something for much less than the cheapest price on Amazon (yay!), while at times the difference is the other way around. Ever since I was a kid my favorite Lego sets were Castles and Pirates. Not long ago I noticed that the prices for EOL Castle 2013 were for the vast majority above the regular retail price by fair amount. I got a decent amount of sets trying to order for the few people who were still selling at a lower price. The tric…

Hello from South Africa. My son who is 10 years old has a special love for lego. I would like to buy and sell lego, but also use this as a serious investment strategy. Anyone having knowledge of importing /exporting from the USA to South Africa, please contact me. Lego Prices from abroad are quite affordable until importation duties are applied with tax, then it Is no longer a viable option. Furthermore, I would like to become a distributor of lego (of sorts). My plan is to tap into the market, get orders and bring in the sets without holding inventory, not sure this is feasible, again appreciate all comments and experience. finally, since my son is such a huge fan o…

Hello all. I've been lurking a while and have decided to introduce myself. I'm a 36 year old male that works in travel during the day and illustration and design at night. When I need to unwind, I build Lego. I have always loved Lego and have bought a Hogwarts here, a Slave I there but have officially been addicted since I introduced my nephew to Lego. Now I want them all. I plan on continuing to learn from this space and learn how to use the ridiculously small amount of extra money I have and build my empire. Hope to learn more and be of some use to others in the future.

(Also finding it hard not to open the sets as soon as I get them though!) cheers Andrew

Hello All! Looking forward to being a part of the site and learning from you all. Just picked up a boat-load of sets from a relative for my son and am jumping back into Lego! LOVE IT! I have used Lego my whole life for play, set design, meeting brainstorming, and now play again through my son! Looking forward to picking up sets I always wanted to build with him! Some we have done already are attached!
