I've just dicovered Brickpicker, and it looks awesome !!! So much information ! I finally managed to get a bit more free time, so now I'm able to get back to my 2 passions when I was young...a long time ago ...LEGO and Star Wars. I hope I won't ask too many silly questions, because it has been a long time since I was up to date with these 2 topics. But with the website and your help I'm sure I'll catch up quicly. Thanks guys for the great job you've done and I hope to chat with you soon.

Hi, Just joined. Hoping to get some good insight from the community and hoping to get some important lessons learned as I make my first steps. I'm more of a builder and love building the sets, especially the big sets, such as the Star Wars sets. Would be good to know how people balance between getting enjoyment out of these sets vs maximizing investments through just buying sets and storing them away until the time is right to sell for a premium. Although it makes sense not to touch a set and sell it mint for maximum profit, but do people see this being a worthwhile sacrifice to having the satisfaction of building the original millennium falcon set, and then rese…

  5. Hi Everyone, I have been checking out this site for a while now but this is my first post. I wanted to say hi to the community. I stumbled back into the world of Lego back in 2007/2008 when doing some Christmas shopping and came upon a Lego store. I went in and was instantly taken back to my childhood, I went home with the VW bug and built it that same night. I had so much fun building that set I just started buying more and my wife bought be the millennium falcon (10179) for my birthday. I later bought the grand carousel for my newborn son, I thought it was a much cooler mobile than anything selling specifically for babies! So over the years I have accumulated quit…

Hope I will learn lots about collecting Lego from here. I just bought a few sets for my kids and myself yesterday. I wish they had NFL Lego set with my favorite players.

Hi All- Thank you for the awesome info on this site! I fell into Lego reselling exactly a year ago. This is by far my favorite site for information. Up until now, I mainly have dealt in used Legos. I've been lucky to find some gems on Craigslist. My husband, three kids (ages 6, 4 and 2) and I love building. (4 and 2 year olds are awesome color sorters!) My 6-year old has an insatiable Lego appetite and has already declared he will design Legos as his job when he grows up. I think his favorite build so far was the Tower Bridge. (In one year, we have built Imperial Flagship, HP Castle, many Star Wars UCS, Market Street, Cafe Corner, Fire Brigade, Black Seas Ba…

Hi all, Lucas here (user name: lukiepete). I'm a travel writer and wannabe novelist, originally from Seattle, who, up until just a few months ago, had been living in Morocco for the last six years where I was teaching. My wife and I recently relocated to Paris for her work and now, without the teaching, I have a heckuva lot of downtime to write and build. It's pretty great. The only problem is Lego. Where do you put all of it? Paris apartments are notoriously small and as we've jumped straight into the deep end of the AFOL pool... well... we were curious if anyone had some storage solutions. We're thinking our next big MOC will be a human-sized Lego dining set …

Hi ever one. I new to this site and was referred to it by a friend from Germany. I myself hail from the Chicago Suburbs. I am an extreme enthusiast and have collected Lego for years. I only ever realized the online aspect and communities 2 years ago while searching for a convention. I haven't been able to make Brickworld, I think it is called in the past years though. I have many unopened sets going back to 1977. I myself wasn't created from lego like cells until 1984. I buy a lot of lego, do a lot of customs or MOCs. Speaking of which, viewing others creations is one of my favorite things to do. I live within 5 minutes of a Lego Store, a Lego Discovery …

Do you guys struggle to differentiate between sets to open and those to store? I've only recently started to buy with this intent recently. I mean, as cool as it is to sell a set for profit in 5 years, is it worth it?

  16. Hello everyone! This weekend I had been cleaning out my garage while preparing to get the holiday lights up, and ran across some of our older Lego collections. Needless to say my holiday decorating plans were halted. As I began going through some of my pieces I thought about how much fun I had building these with my girls. They are older now, and the pieces were moved out into the garage. It was only a few pieces that I kept. I located also one I had picked up along the way, and so I decided to do some internet searching about legos. I had no idea how valuable some of these sets are! I hope to begin collecting and also making some extra money on the si…

Hi everyone, I'm Philip, 41, living in Ohio (but originally European, Dutch to be precise ) I recently joined BrickPicker - absolutely loved LEGO as a child in the late 70s - early 80s, but entered my Dark Ages at the age of 15 and only came out into the light again 3-4 years ago when my kids got old enough to get LEGO sets. Have been feeding my LEGO collection needs through my kids, who have a sizable amount of bricks - sorted into bins by me :). My wife didn't see the appeal of LEGO for adults for a while, but started swinging the right direction after seeing a few LEGO displays at local shows (she now wants us to build a small town for the train to run through, a…

I have the following Lego to sell. All loose I'm afraid, but does have all the instructions. Any idea how much I should be asking? Someone said £100, but have put on Gumtree & have only been offered £50 so & have been let down twice by people saying they're coming & not turning up. Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hi all, For years I have been collecting the classic Lego Technic sets (70s/ 80s early 90s) and was not interested in the "new" sets. Until recently. I came out of my comfort zone and visited the Lego Shop. I must admit, there are truly magnificent sets nowadays. Furthermore it is fantastic to find out there are so many Lego fans out there. There are really interesting articles and topics on brickpicker and when i tell my wife I'm reading articles about Lego she gives me the glazy look . Thanks! Brenner

Hi anyone care to venture a guess at the value on this custom Lego Colosseum. It's around 24in tall and a little over 45in in diameter. I'm only guessing but I think it weighs around 100lbs. I dont know how many total pieces but it has to be in the tens of thousands. I can count hundreds of pieces just in a small section of the structure. Also included are around 135 roman mini figures. It came from a major movie studio prop department.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums with lego, but I've been a big fan for years, and just now am getting around to online forums related to my hobby. I've been collecting since I was a kid, and now I've turned this into a fun little side hobby of building mocs and taking a lego-ized version of myself around on my travels. If you wanna check it out, here's my facebook and instagram pages. I really look forward to chatting more with everyone! https://www.facebook.com/adventuresoflegojake/ https://www.instagram.com/lego_jake/
