Why is it so hard to find old lego "hard to find" sets at toysrus, while target, amazon and even toysrus.ca, have plenty in stock? any thoughts on this?

I was really excited to bring my boys to go to the Lego Movie build today at TRU. I had called ahead a few days ago and asked what to expect. I was told the kids would be building their lego sets in stores and then able to take them home. They usually run out fast, so to expect a line. So I went early with my kids and found there to be no line, nor did one gather (which was just fine with me). But rather than actually have the kids build the sets there, they just handed them a bag and instructions and sent them home. I was at Toys R Us this morning and noticed the 70010: The Lion CHI Temple is now actually priced $99.99 on the shelves. After coming home, I also noticed it was $99.99 on the website. I know most of us are avoiding Chima stuff, but this might actually be a good deal if they run a 20% coupon promo or a BOGO 50% off sale.

Does anyone have a complete list of TRU brown clearance sets? Someone mentioned the 3 in 1 super pack (66475) a few days ago as Having been missed - I checked today and my TRU had 2 of them on the shelf at $129.99 each. I checked the price and they came up $26 (I bought both). I assume that there are brown clearance sets sitting in a lot of stores not marked down. If someone could put together a list it would make it easier to scope out stores.

Thought some of you might be interested in the polybags. just bought four of them. i found them by accident it seems. i was taken there after i clicked on a toys r us link and placed the order but when i went back and tried searching the website for them i couldnt find them for sale anywhere. So I recently bought toys r us/ babies r us gift cards, to use on online purchases with deals like the current BOGO, the gift cards had a little more value then what I had purchase them for, so I would be saving I thought in the long run. I have tried 3 times to place orders twice on sunday and once today, the orders do not go through. The transaction amount is decucted from the balance but no receipt of purchases. They call this Ghost order or Ghosting. I feel like they are defrauding me. I used internet explorer on sunday and chrome today. I have called toys r us and they reloaded the card once on sunday before it happened again. And now I have called again…

If you dont' know, from septemberish to October I think it is, you get 10% back on all toysrus purchases (with some exclusions) into a pot for up to a $100 gift card for the christmas season. Plus, you still get your normal TRU rewards. This is one of the few TRU promotions that is really pretty good. Well, I got on and checked today as I was purchasing some video games. So I have been trying to personally collect the Master Builder sets and when I saw that they were listing at 50% off, I was stoked. Drove out to the closest TRU and they were at full price, no big deal, I'd just keep checking and cross my fingers. There were like 3 to 4 of each. If I purchased something at TRU and then realized I had gift cards....can I return it and then pay with the gift card?

I have to get this off my chest. I have made 2 purchases over the last 2 weeks and have not received any reward points. TRU is also running a promotion where you get 10% back and double reward points if you use the TRU credit card. I called them 6 days ago to report the issue. Of course the person I talked to couldn't do anything and forwarded everything to corporate. She told me to wait 5 days. 5 days have passed and in the meantime, I place another order. Which of course I didn't receive rewards for that order either. That brings us to today. I called, gave them my reference number and told them about my new order problem. I've gotten the blue and green sets so far. Error on getting the yellow, as I had purchased my order online and it included the set, then when I got my confirmation, it was gone. I complained but TRU's customer service didn't help. Anyone else been picking these up? It's been somewhat difficult to be sneaky under TRU's jacked up prices, but i've been able to pick up sets i've liked for LEGO retail just above the $60 threshold.

Some of The Hobbit sets were at my local TRU today (the 26th). I was surprised to see them because I thought tomorrow was the official first day for them. They had An Unexpected Gathering (79003)($79.99); Attack of the Wargs (79002)($59.99); and The Goblin King Battle (79010)($119.99). Even though the prices were above MSRP they were having a BOGO 50% on most LEGO and I believe these were included. They also had Gandalf the Grey polybags for $3.99.

I have a $10 off coupon that I want to use in tandem with a price match. I know there is another post that discusses whether they will do this for Target/Walmart (seemed split), but I wondered if TRU would match an Amazon listing. Anyone with experience on this?

Just received my 2 TRU orders from the last BOGO sale. Currently 1 Unimog short (but since there was so many individual packing boxes it could come next week) 1 Tumbler set instead of Batman Funhouse 1 Unimog I received was dented, torn and even shredded in one corner. 5 Batman Funhouses sets with various degrees of dents and creases 3 Battle for Geonosis sets (fairly ok) Deadset the worst packaging I have ever seen. The Unimog was laid diagonally in a box which was so dented on the top the tape was split 3 Funhouse sets were in a box large enough to fit 2 Unimogs (WTF???) What are the chances they will do anything about it?
