General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by Legodog,

We brought this up in another thread and realized that not many people probably know about this so I figured I would make a dedicated post for it. The usual fee for processing your transactions on PayPal is 2.9%. If you process more than $3000 per month you can apply for a lower rate of 2.5% and if you do more than $10,000 per month in sales you can get a 2.2% rate. The application for upgrading takes less than a minute. Here is some more info: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/merchant-fees

I ordered something on bricklink March 6 from England it, and says it has shipped but i still haven't received it yet. I don't know how much it weighed but it was $5.50 for shipping. How long does it usually take for something to get to the U.S. from England?

First off, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this! I'm taking a trip this winter and I'm letting my Statue of Liberty go to cover some of the cost. I will be posting it on Ebay in a few days, but I figured I would post a heads up on Brick Picker first. (I'd really like it to go to a good home) Few details on the set. My fiancee is the original owner, she has had it ever since she was a kid. It is currently on display in our bedroom. It is a used set, but 100% complete. The instructions are severely damaged, but all there. It seems to be water damage. The cover page is torn off, but besides that all intact. No box. I have included a few pictures of the…

  4. I bought this lot for 20$ at a Yard Sale and want to sell it on Ebay but I want to know what the most efficient way to sell them is. I roughly separated them by color but its not 100%. Should I separate the minifigs and sell them separately? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Edit: There are definately more than 30 minifigures

Hey guys, A couple of months ago I won an auction for some City Construction sets, brand new. Now, for space and interest in other sets, I must sell most if not all of them. Here's the list of what I have planned to sell: 7746-1: Single-Drum Roller 7631-1: Dump Truck 7685-1: Dozer 7998-1: Heavy Hauler 7344-1: Dump Truck 7632-1: Crawler Crane (x2) 7243-1: Construction Site 7900-1: Heavy Loader 7249-1: XXL Mobile Crane 7633-1: Construction Site 7905-1: Building Crane All of them sealed in perfect conditions. I wish I didn't have to sell them but the space in my apartment is small and I'd like to go after newer sets. So, my question is, should I sell th…

  7. Hi, I am looking for a US Wholesale Lego distributor, able to ship 3-4000$ worth of Lego for every shipping to Europe, Slovenja. Can you provide this service? Can you tell me the price including delivery to Slovenja (probably Trieste in Italy is the nearest Harbour and/or international airport) ? The reason is I am looking for Lego not distributed in Europe. best regards, M needless to say I'm not interested but I have never dealt with spam on bricklinks so I was a little taken back.

I was in B&****** tonight and there were some sheets of paper temporary taped to the Lego displays. They are obviously for the workers to set up the displays and know where the sets go. I took some photos. Not sure if there is anything we can learn from this but I figured post them in case. Sorry for the quality of the photos. I was getting looks from the employees so I was trying to make it fast.

How do you enter sealed minfigures cases of 60 into My Brickfolio? The only way I see is to enter by individual sealed bags and choosing the quantity? I just want it to be as accurate as possible when it comes to tracking the value of my investments, but entering them individually would have some of these sealed cases way over valued. Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi everyone. I just wanted to share with you the several vintage 70's lego sets I have up for auction on Ebay. These sets are incomplete but come with boxes and instructions for the most part. Believe it or not these were given to me by a person whose husband passed away and she did not want anything to do with the legos that he had. They were pratically almost placed in the trash until they were rescued. Check them out if anyone is interested in having old vintage legos for display. Hey All, I am recently getting back into the buying/ selling game. I came across a Lego collection that looks like a good opportunity. I would appreciate any thoughts. I haven't physically seen it yet and the seller only has a picture of what is included. Everything is stated to be used and complete. I will check if I get to see it, of course. The lot includes many of the Indiana Jones sets, Queen Anne ship, some older Star wars sets (Tie bomber, Older Sail barge) as well as the Eiffel Tower. The seller is thinking 1k for the sets and 500 for the tower. I know the tower used can go for 700. Without verifying the lot I was initially thinking 1k for…

I recently decided to try to sell off my Legos on bricklink and have found that the user interface is extremely hard to use. I loaded a few items just to try it out and finally received an email about someone trying to purchase my items but they are asking for a bypass number to complete their order. Any idea what they are wanting? He is from South Korea and I have no experience with international shipping. Any advice s greatly appreciated! I went nuts on recent sales and need to unload this inventory! Thanks!

I just did a comparison on 75005 at EU and US LEGO Shop at Home, and the MSRP in the EU is 17 units higher. I mean units because Lego does not do a currency conversion rather than a 1:1 relation between USD and EUR. This kills me. The Rancor Pit set is one I've looking for ever since it was released, not just as an investment but as a set that I'd like to tear open and build. But man, MSRP of

Delete if not appropriate. Our friends 13 year old son is amazed by my lego stash and is a little lego crazy. He is also very bright and brought over a pad and pen and took notes on how to become a lego investor (to fuel his collection). His first ebay auction ever is live, and he set up everything (paypal, ebay. Etc) on his own, and did it 100% by himself. http://m.ebay.com/itm/141750896880?_mwBanner=1 Here is his listing, I'd buy it, but he would know it's me. Would be happy to return the favor to someone similar or help out. Thanks

I sell a lot of non-lego items on ebay and have always used newspaper. Mostly because I have an almost unlimited supply of it and it's all free. I've recently started selling some of my lego investments and was wondering, is it ok to use newspaper? The reason I ask is I'm worried the the print could potentially rub off on the boxes? Anyone else use newspaper to ship, I've searched around haven't found any other info on it?

Was hoping to get some advice from some veteran sellers. I am relatively new to collecting and probably won't begin selling much until next year. I have been logging my purchases into brickpicker and exporting to an excel spreadsheet for now. I include the sales tax in my cost of goods when I log my purchases. Is this the best way to keep track for now? I am not ready to fork over the money for quickbooks or any software like that yet. Also, I have been selling DVDs and other misc. items from around the house to get my ebay feedback up until I am ready to start selling lego. I have not sold any of these items for a profit. As long as I sell a few lego sets this ye…

This has been an extremely informative site. I have decided to try my hand at investing in a few lego sets as it seems like a fun hobby to help fund a personal collection. I found LoTR Weathertop on clearance for $20 each at my local Walmart and bought a few. I also picked up a Hulk Breakout for $35. I bought a few others but these are the main ones I have a question about. At what point is it a good idea to sell? I realize no one may no the perfect time as sets go up and down, but I would like to hear your opinions. The average price listed on this site now for either of those sets are over $50 so I could already try to make a profit, but should I expect prices to …

I have a bunch of Chima Speedorz sets coming in. I want to sell them, but, usually I just sell polybags and minifigs. I had some questions about shipping speedorz. Does first class in a padded mailer work usually or will that risk damaging them? Shipping in boxes seems like it might be cost prohibitive. How is anyone else shipping them and what are you getting charged for shipping? Any help is appreciated....thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this was talked about over here, but the MMV is gone from LEGO Shop at Home across Europe and is Sold Out + Retiring Soon on LEGO Shop at Home US. Also it's not available directly from Amazon, only from 3rd party sellers. So if you don't have one and want to put this as a long, LONG, LONG investment, grab one soon. Also, most of the Holiday sets (bakery, post office, cottage) are shown as sold out on US LEGO Shop at Home. Bakery and post office are not on Europe's LEGO Shop at Home, cottage is available.

Does anybody here sell on Bricklink by any chance? I have considered doing it, but it just seems like a lot of work with little or no payout. If anyone is doing it or has done it, I would be grateful to hear about your experiences. Thanks!
