General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

Found Bulk minifigure Lot for sale on Craigslist -$300 for the lot.. posting attached its a time consuming task to reassemble and try to sell....I’m sure it’s worth it but, is it?

Hi all, I am new to this site, and I've never sold Lego before, but I have a decent sized collection with minifigs and a rare set and I'd like to know what the community thinks it's worth. Also, should I sell them all together or sell the bulk separately? What's the best strategy? I was thinking all together for $1000 but could be way off in either direction. Also how much should I value the Yoda at? Let me know what you think, thank you! Here's what I've got: Many retired sets, including the rare Star Wars Yoda, set #7194-1. Nothing newer than 2002 or so, some much older. Lots of Star Wars, aquanauts, police, firefighters, pirates, space shuttle, and lots of …

Hello, I'm new in the community and it looks awesome, thanks for having me! I'm starting a collection, maybe looking into making some profit in the future: I could buy a whole collection of the star wars advent calendars at what seems a fair price, something like slightly more than retail price, all sealed of course. Could it ve worth it? Thank you for your advice!

Hi all, I wanted to ask you something. My father is going to move in with his girlfriend and found an old lego set of mine when I was a child, presumably from late '90s. My father thinks it is worth something, but I honestly have no idea. I put it online for sale, but I have honestly no idea what it's worth. My apologies if this in the wrong forum, if it is a stupid question, and I'm also sorry for my bad English. Thank you in advance! Kind Regards, Lily

Hi folks, I need some help. Basically I sold some stuff over ebay and now couple of the buyers come back to me and tell me that the shipping cost shows up $9 something in the product detail page, but after they won the bid and check out, the shipping cost from the final checkout shows $10 something. I just checked other recent transactions, it seems like other buyers may have this issue also. I selected Automatic Calculate and FedEx Economy option when create listing. Does anyone know why the shipping cost in product detail page is different than the checkout page? Is it something configurable in listing page? I tried to contact ebay but I only see the C…

Hello everyone, I've just scoured through "General Buying & Selling" and I don't seem to be able to find some tips on this. My wife found a set from some local seller and we are interested in getting it. The set that we found contains about 1000+ pieces, it is already assembled (according to the seller) but will be disassembled for easier transportation. We are meeting him over the weekend. We are both new to buying used Lego sets, so what tips do you have when buying a set from a local seller? How do we check each piece (or you don't?). I presume when the seller says "will be disassembled", he's not gonna disassembled it entirely. Thanks.

  9. So passwords aren't working this morning at all (even though I have the correct one). Password recovery is not even though the correct email is there. I can't log in from anywhere at all. About to call them about it but I was going to see if anyone else was having the same problem this morning.

Hey everyone, Decided to take a shot at BrickStock and unfortunately I hit a roadblock instantly. A lot of Youtube videos tell me to go into preferences and connect my BrickLink store via the network tab. I have done this, but received no "confirmation or denial" that is connected. I assume it hasn't though because I go to Import and try to import my store inventory and the option simply isn't there for me. Was this the difference between free and paid version? Or am I missing something simple. Maybe it cannot connect to your current BL store anymore due to lack of support? Any help is appreciated!

  14. Just got a letter from Tesco regarding their double boost they do with club card vouchers. As we know Tesco have been hit hard with all the other lower priced supermarkets, so I imagine thats the reason for this. Come this May and June 2016 - It will be the last time Tesco double the value of your vouchers. So £5 becomes £10 etc. Useful of course if you buy LEGO from there. So get those purchases in between the 16th May and 26th June

  15. I am trying to neaten up some of my mountains of paperwork, and want to get your two cents - I've been keeping my received packing lists/invoices since I've been doing this, but really don't have much use for them if I don't need to return anything. Do you guys keep these? If so, other than for return duration/verification purposes, how long do some of you keep packing slips/shipping invoices? Do you keep them in addition to e-receipts/receipts? Or one of the other? Thanks!

When investing in Lego sets is there any resale value difference between European and U.S. packaging? I noticed on the Euro Lego sets that there is less text printing/details on the packaging such as pieces count, disclaimers, etc. The Euro packaging seems cleaner and less clutter than the U.S. sets. I live in the U.S. and I am investing in the UCS series sets and was looking for any feedback on whether there would be any value difference many years from now depending on which packaging you own. Kind Regards, Casey

I purchased the Vampyre Castle from TRU and it came in today. The box is damaged and I am not completely sure the factory tape seal wasn't messed with. As an investor, you need the box to be in mint condition. I was disappointed and don't know now where I can't get another - this was my only VC. Would you take it back?

I bought a set online and the seller gave me a tracking number and for some reason I am getting this error: "Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office". The seller says that the number she gave me is correct. Does anyone have any idea what this means?

  21. Started by Tarvis,

Hi I purchased instructions for a custom lego set and now am wanting to sell both the instructions and the set itself. Would it be better to take it all apart and sell the pieces separate on brick link, or sell it all together as a set with the instructions? The instructions are for Brian Coopers Teknomeka mech robot. Also how would I figure out the value for both ways to sell it? Thanks

  22. A buyer recently asked to return a large Lego set they bought on BrickLink. The box was literally perfect when I sent it in the snug 'frustration free' cardboard box.As you can see, it did get a bit damaged in transit, but (to me) it's nowhere near "pretty beat up" as the buyer described. Of course, accepting the return means I'd be out selling fees and round-trip shipping, which totals around $60. Recognizing this, I offered him a small discount. He rejected and filed a claim with PayPal. The individual is apparently a reseller who is uninterested in less-than-perfect boxes. I am expecting PayPal will side with buyer because it seems like that's eBay's default. …

  23. I have a 10937 missing the large #1 bag. Other things are all sealed in the original bags, including the instructions and plates. The box itself is damaged so I just put everything in a brown box. In the link below there is pictures showing all the contents. There are supposed to be 2 bags numbered #1. The big one is missing. https://comunidade0937.com/forum/index.php?topic=12431.0 A complete set on amazon is about $260. Any suggestion on where and how much I should sell it for?

How do you enter sealed minfigures cases of 60 into My Brickfolio? The only way I see is to enter by individual sealed bags and choosing the quantity? I just want it to be as accurate as possible when it comes to tracking the value of my investments, but entering them individually would have some of these sealed cases way over valued. Thanks in advance.
