If I refund a buyer money, is that factored into my total sent to the IRS at the end of the year? Or do I have to write it off as a loss? Are partial refunds treated differently?

I stopped at their store the other day looking to pick up some of the sets mentioned in the title above. I got there and they were sold out. (They had some Lego games items though.) I asked the cashier and he said they sold them all to a guy the day before. He said they were not expecting anymore sets, but he suggested I look on their website to see if they were selling them there. I later checked and they have both in stock. The 4865 Forbidden Forest is $13.99 and the 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack is $16.99. Over retail, but if you missed the boat on them they might be worth picking up. You can only add up to 2 of the Forbidden Forests and 1 of the Mandalorian Battle Pack…

Paging Legodog who I bet will know... Recently joined the B&****** club to get the 10% off discount in store. Two questions. - I got a 20% off coupon in my inbox. It doesn't seem to work for Lego online, even though they are not expressly excluded on the coupon. Will it work in a brick and mortar store? Or will it not work in store either? - If it does work, do you get the 10% as well with your membership, or will it do the 20% only? Guessing the latter. Thanks if anyone knows.

Hello, I'm new in the community and it looks awesome, thanks for having me! I'm starting a collection, maybe looking into making some profit in the future: I could buy a whole collection of the star wars advent calendars at what seems a fair price, something like slightly more than retail price, all sealed of course. Could it ve worth it? Thank you for your advice!

I've asked a few people on BL where they get such a massive inventory from and no one will share their supplier (as expected). Does anyone know where these sellers are getting their 500+ minifigure inventories from? For example, one guy was selling 500 Michaelangelos, and not to leave out his 100+ inventories of other minifigures from Hobbit and Superheroes. Does anyone know?

So, lets pretend here for just a moment that one of the members here has a wife that is simply wonderful and wanted to surprise her husband with a birthday gift of a Lego Technic Unimog to have for himself. Let us also pretend that this item arrived from Lego with a different person's payment info on the invoice and that, upon inquiry, said wife purchased the item for cheap from ebay. Not that any of this has nor will ever happen to one of the members here, but just roll with me ok? Now, in that unfortunate event, what exactly would one say to the offending seller? Yeah, the person would want to send a well worded message saying you %$#@*@% pig! How could you do this?!…

So.. we are virtually lockd down due to the covid-19 scare. Thus I have also some time to clean out the attic and there is some 70s and 80s lego there. So i put some up for sale, put have no idea what this realistically would be worth. So I figured I would ask if any of you can give an idea what I may expect to get for this stuff. It is generally rails and carriages. But there is also a Box of technical lego (somewehere...). I will add some fotos. Any help is much appreciated Best, Michael

Does anyone have any good suggestions on where to look at for good lego set bargains (in europe)? Apart from Ebay and Amazon, I mean. Everyone on Ebay is well informed and good bargains are very rare in my opinion.

Hey, if you got a package weighing over 13 oz, say 2lbs. Is the best way to ship priority mail? I was checking to see how much it would cost through paypal, and I think my item which is a game would have to fit in the medium box. At 2lbs, I am looking at $11 to ship. That is crazy. Is it better just to take the package into the post office and get an estimate?

Hello everyone. New member here. Just started collecting lego for fun a couple months ago. Discovered there are so many awesome sets, and realized I couldn't just keep on buying everything without funding my hobby from other means. So decided to look at investing in sets and sell them at profit, which led me to this awsome site. Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I should go the the pirate ship ambush for 69.99 at TRU (after the $20 discount) or the Vampyre Castle for 89? From where I am (Central IL) the Vampyre Castle is harder to find. But the pirate ship seems to be a very good deal. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hey everyone! So my son has been playing lego for a while (I used to play as a kid too) but seemed limited in what he could build based on the amount/type of lego we have. So I bought 50lbs of lego from craigslist and now there's so much I'm sure he won't be able to play with it all. So I've been reading around and discovered the magical world of used lego selling Anyway, I wanted to try what many of you do and sell some of our lego with the aim to make a profit so that it can fund more lego (brand new sets that he picks out himself and/or more used lots). From what I've gathered, the best way to sell mixed lego is to sort it, build any sets as near complete as …

Not sure if this is a topic that already exists somewhere else or if it belongs here (I did a search already), but the users here whom have stores, can you tell us if you take payments using a credit card reader? If so, which service have you found works best? Pay Pal, Square, your bank or some other? Just curious, since I plan on selling from home or when I'm on the go at a tradeshow or something... Thanks!

I came across this site today while link-hopping: https://openbazaar.org/ It bills itself as a peer-to-peer trading platform for physical goods, leveraging BitCoin (instead of paypal or fiat money in general) to "make online commerce cheaper and more free than ever before." Is this the next big thing? or a flash in the pan?

I´m selling in European region since 2014. 2015 and early 2016 were my "golden years" and i made some bucks selling sets and parts as well. I keep track of all my sales (and purchases) in detail with adjustable statistics. And it appears to me that something has happend in July 2016. My sellings reduced to an all-time-minimum (maybe to 1/4 or less) of which i was selling the year before almost instantly! First i thought this is the regular summer low but it never recovered. My sellings at Christmas season 2016 were terrible and also January, which was always my best month, was very low in sets and parts i sold. My number of sets i listed for sale didn´…

Hey all, I am new to lego and I am in my early 40's. I would like to build skyscrappers and would like to order the bricks that I need and not buy colourful lego sets. Do you guys have any tips on where to start and what to do ? Should I build using 1x4 or 2x4 ? What is the most economical way to build skyscrapers ? What's the most intelligent and cost efficient way to build with windows ? Thank you for your time

Do you usually find good deals at the lego stores? The one closest to me is about an hour and a half away and I am wondering if if it is worth it to make the trip.
