Great site that I stumbled on and searching for some guidance. My boys are now grown and our collection of Lego's over the years has overgrown their playroom. Since the wife wants the playroom converted to something else the judge has decided the Lego's must go. I've cataloged what sets we own. Have manuals for all of them and a few boxes. All of them are used as they wanted to put them together. Part of me says sort into sets and sell. I sorted 1 and changed my mind! Assuming I have 95% of the pieces across the 200+ sets where many are likely full sets. What's the best way to potentially sell all of these in bulk? Appreciate any ad…

Has anyone here ever been to the New York Toy Fair? If so, is it worth it? I'm considering applying to go this year, but am not sure that I want to spend the money to do so.

It appears that sellers are getting scammed lately by buyers who use hotels as their shipping address claiming the package was not received by the front desk and requesting replacements/refunds/opening AZ cases that sellers are bound to lose. if you have an amazon seller account you should be able to access the link below, if you dont you MAY be able to get it as well: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=225779&ref_=im_sf_C_225779_wsfqs_home&sortBy=helpful it starts with the following: Posted on: 16 Oct, 2014 11:10 PM …

I went on a huge lego buying binge yersterday and bought a bunch of craigs list star war lego sets. These are the sets i bought. 6975, 7151, 7101, 8037, 7957, 7748, 7965, 8018, and 7962. All are complete except 8018 missing 2 of the silver bulky droids. No boxes with these used sets just instructions which are in good shape. I paid $305 dollars for all. I also have 3 boxes of bulk legos and a couple instructions that i mite be able to peice together an extra non star wars set or 2. Like 10 extra mini figs, star wars and other random mini figs. I think i just got to excited and tried to bargin but they wouldnt come down much and after a 45 min drive just bought every thing…

Hello friends, I absolutely love Legos, more so to build them myself and show around the home. I'm sure the entire world knows about Legos and in recent weeks it's been given a lot of publicity as it relates to investing. This additional publicity got me more interested in making a little bit of profit to help pay for the Legos I build and keep. I put in a little research and found a few sets to buy and sell down the road and I would love to know how folks go about selling their Legos. Ebay, amazon, other sites? What have you found to be the best way to do this? Again, I dont plan on quitting my day to day job so this is strictly a side hobby with an intent to sell 4-6 pi…

I sell a lot of non-lego items on ebay and have always used newspaper. Mostly because I have an almost unlimited supply of it and it's all free. I've recently started selling some of my lego investments and was wondering, is it ok to use newspaper? The reason I ask is I'm worried the the print could potentially rub off on the boxes? Anyone else use newspaper to ship, I've searched around haven't found any other info on it?

I'm sure there is similar threads, but still nice to get some ideas. My kids finally started getting into Lego, and I'm trying to find the sales, deals etc. I found a mom and pop toy store that still has the MH sets and some Lone Ranger, but they haven't discounted. Someone else posted that they got a bunch of polybags at a TJ Maxx So...what are the non traditional places that I need to be looking? Thanks

  11. Now I am not sure if this is the right place for trade but I decided to get rid of a few sets/items since I am trying to liquidate some cash to buy more LEGO Toy shop sets from my local retailer (see trade in General investing ***Hot Stuff***) SETS are MISB condition, box being rated easily 8 if not very close to 9! 2x Winter Village Toy Shop 1x Winter Village Bakery LINK to 1 box http://shrani.si/f/3k/6T/3jKmwJki/1/toyshop.jpg COMBINED PRICE(including shipping): 485$ (shipping costs me 70$ roughly (priority+registered+insured) Current lowest Toy Shop on Ebay = 200$ + shipping Current lowest Bakery on Ebay = 150$ + shipping I…

  12. Ok gang, I need a little input here. I recently opened a store on bricklink and received an offer this morning from a buyer. They want to purchase 10 of my 6864 batmobile and two face chase sets as a bulk order. They offered to pay with a personal check, and are wiling to wait for it to clear before I ship. Total of the check will be $700 plus exact shipping. They offered to do the deal outside of bricklink and paypal to save me some fees. My question is this...once I receive and deposit the check, and once it clears the banks, I am safe to ship the goods, right? Is there any way the buyer can scam me once the check clears? With the recent talk on the forums about some…

And this is pretty obvious to those who have been out and about quite a bit the last few weeks, but the holidays have really cleared out a lot of the stragglers in the Lego aisle. There used to be remnants of Atlantis, Alien Invasion, PotC, '11/'12 Creator, Harry Potter, etc. left in the Walmarts, Targets, and TRUs of the world, but the holidays have pretty much cleared all that out. Those last sets you were trying to pick up cheap when they went on sale are pretty much all gone. I was even at my local Barnes and Noble yesterday looking for a book and the Lego was pretty much cleared out there as well. 2 weeks ago, they were stuffed with it. Bottom line, if you …

Hi, I was wondering how anyone here feels about how best to manage one's available time when it comes to finding deals on legos, or any products really, in the multitude of online or offline stores you can visit. I've noticed people here talk about major clearances people have found at their local stores, but from what I understand I'm not guaranteed to find the same great deal at my local walmart or target etc. that you did at yours while a link to a great deal on Amazon will work for virtually anyone who sees it assuming the deal is still going on. I don't really have a reason to go out to retail stores for any other reason, so there's a good chance I could go out to…

I came across this site today while link-hopping: https://openbazaar.org/ It bills itself as a peer-to-peer trading platform for physical goods, leveraging BitCoin (instead of paypal or fiat money in general) to "make online commerce cheaper and more free than ever before." Is this the next big thing? or a flash in the pan?

There are a few sets that I want, but I am curious if there might be better deals on these to come later this year? 75017 Duel on Geonosis (haven't seen it less than $36) 75020 Jabba Sail Barge (haven't seen it cheaper than $75-$80) 75021 Republic gunship (Some Walmarts at $79) 76006 Iron Man Seaport battle (I'm assuming this might be Walmart/target summer clearance?) 6860 Batcave (will this last until Christmas?) 9516 Jabba's palace (My local Wal-mart has 5, but still at $119 and I check the app every day) Thanks for any input. I wasn't keeping up last year during the best deals like black Friday/cyber Monday and wonder if any of these will be as av…

Hey, if you got a package weighing over 13 oz, say 2lbs. Is the best way to ship priority mail? I was checking to see how much it would cost through paypal, and I think my item which is a game would have to fit in the medium box. At 2lbs, I am looking at $11 to ship. That is crazy. Is it better just to take the package into the post office and get an estimate?

Has anyone used a P.O. Box to receive Items from Lego S@Home? What are your thoughts?

  21. Started by ISO8T0,

Wondering if anyone has used these before. http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-7907-2BP-Packing-Noodles/dp/B000GLS29E Conventional peanuts worked out well for me for packing items before the holidays. I've just about used up my stash and am looking at these as well as bubble wrap. The good thing about these noodles is they come in a brick form (now i've got your attention) as opposed to regular peanuts which have to be bagged up etc. FYI: For bubble wrap I haven't found anything cheaper than Sams Club. (which comes out to $.06/LF for a 12" wide roll) in store price.

  22. I am trying to neaten up some of my mountains of paperwork, and want to get your two cents - I've been keeping my received packing lists/invoices since I've been doing this, but really don't have much use for them if I don't need to return anything. Do you guys keep these? If so, other than for return duration/verification purposes, how long do some of you keep packing slips/shipping invoices? Do you keep them in addition to e-receipts/receipts? Or one of the other? Thanks!

I've recently become interested in buying and re-selling lego sets. One of my first purchases was 9445 Fangpyre Truck Ambush which I picked up for $20 CAD. I recently saw it sell on ebay for about $60. Im just curious how people would expect it to be packed up. I was going to take it apart piece by piece and make sure it was complete. Is it suitable to put all the pieces in one large polybag, or should they be seperated into several? Maybe the minifigs in separate bags and everything else in one large bag? 9445-1: Fangpyre Truck Ambush

I could have sworn someone already asked this before but couldn't find it. Here goes anyhow. There are hundreds of sellers on Bricklink that list individual pieces from sets for sale, and it is true that not every set appreciates in value (some even devalue), so fellow Brickvestors my question is thus. Is it possible to make a profit that at least covers the original retail cost of a set by parting it out?

Hey folks! I'm relatively new here and have, up to this point, just been selling complete new and used sets. It's been going okay, but I think I'm ready to get serious about parting out some of my sets. I hope I'm posting this in the right spot, but I figured I'd start a thread which is a bit of a Q&A for Newbie Parter-Outers like myself. I've read quite a few threads (on Brickpicker) and articles, but I have a few extra questions that weren't addressed. A few questions I have to begin with: 1) New vs Used (Bricklink) - I'm seeing where it's around a 20-30% difference in Part-out value when you specify whether your pieces are new or used. Now, obviously "New" wou…
