General Different Set Theme Forum

Basically a place to post for sets and items that really don't fit anywhere else.

Not quite a seasonal set but was not sure where it fits in the range. Heading to legoland with the kids and was tempted to pick up a few. probably going to be around for a while but might have a quick flip potential. Not my usual price range or strategy but have filled up my large storage area so thought I might try a few smaller sets. Anyone else had any experience on this set.

  3. Here is the limited edition model given out to those who participated in the LEGO Inside Tour of 2015. With only 80 of the set given out at the event plus signed by Steen Sig Andersen makes this one extremely rare. I believe there is a printed plaque tile similar to those of the Architecture line inside so that's nice. Source: The Brick Fan

Go go Power Rangers! There's a Power Rangers movie coming in 2017, and there's picture floating around of a potential LEGO Power Rangers theme in 2017. No details about the sets as of yet.

  8. What do you guys think of these new minifigure magnets with the cardboard back? Will they be good investments, or just a waste because the minifigs are irremovable.

  9. People in Holland are going bonkers over a windmill freebie that's handed out at the new Amsterdam Lego shop. Instantly sold for 100 euro, prices going up to 150.

Saw this over on Brickset this morning. Apparently the boxes are empty and are to gauge interest. It's interesting watching Lego these days, especially after buying BrickLink and wanting to better understand what the end-user wants. Their research must be taking them to other aftermarket-type products such as lighting kits. If they can be cost-competitive I see lighting kits making sense. If I can get an equivalent kit for less elsewhere, I'm not sure I would buy the Lego brand store. Essentially, someone else got to lighting kits first, Lego, how are you going to differentiate to make me want to buy it from you? I suppose if do end up pursuing this direction, it w…

So... it's basically LEGO's take on the ol' "Guess Who?" game.

  18. Today I was in a mom and pop pharmacy and noticed a 6166 large brick box on the shelf for $29.99. It's retired, and seems to sell for 2x or 3x the retail price already. 400 pcs and one minifig... Question is, this trend seems to happen with other retired brick boxes as well. Anyone understand what the appeal is on these? Is it just people who are doing a random search for Lego, and end up not shopping around? I can't figure out why these brick boxes appreciate so much after EOL when they just roll out new (and better) ones.

I have a bunch of 25th anniversary 1201 piece tubs (3026) . I picked them up way back when on clearance at the local big box. They are sitting in my attic now, but was wondering if they actually had any value. They are unopened (still strapped), but the cover and side stickers aren't perfect. If they had any value, I figured I would try to sell a couple, otherwise I will dump them all into my "big box O lego" and start a new build. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Paul.

Blue Bucket; Retired; Why is this so popular? Had some spare sets laying around that my kids never used so I looked at eBay and was shocked to find that they were going for $30+ Anyone know why? Should I hold on to them? Some ppl are asking for crazy amount of money for the set that I consider to be generic.
