LEGO Questions & Answers

  1. Hi, I picked up a Lego Star Wars Death Star 10188 as a store return. All four boxes are present. Box 1, 2 are factory sealed. Box 4 is open with 11 bags in it that have the number 7 on them. The box seems to be full. Box 3 also seems opened so I would be looking for number of bags there as well. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the complete contents of boxes 3 and 4. Thank you, Terri

I am curious if there is a specific date that sets retire? I was looking at the Ferrari F40 (10248-1) on Lego.com, but it was showing on backorder. Now it does not show up at all. This brought me to 2 questions- 1.Has the ferrari F40 officially retired? 2.Is there a set date for retiring sets to go away (ie: Jan 1)? I searched this set and didnt see any threads, which I don't believe, but I am also a Noob, so please be patient with me.

(I tried to post this earlier and wasn’t sure if it went though. If this is a duplicate I apologize!) We received a box of old duplo legos from a family member and had these doors (see pic). Anyone know what set these are from? He said he remember them being with pieces that make tunnel-like things and you could roll a ball though them and the ball would hit these doors and open them. (Not a great description, sorry!) Any ideas? Thank you! -Ally

I'm getting into custom builds now and I'm sick of constantly finding i dont have what i need. Usually because I need symmetry and only have one of a specific brick. I'm wondering how builders optimize their collection so that this happens less often. Like what's a good way to bulk up my brick types so that i can get through a build without constant roadblocks? Or if you were to start all over, what would you buy to have a versatile collection of bricks that allow you to build whatever comes to mind? And secondly, obviously you can't have it all, there's always going to be a specific thing in a certain color that you dont have. So what are the things not to focus on when…

Anybody have info on how to apply to sell legos in a store? My wife has a brick and mortar and wanted to start carrying collectible minifigs. She's wondering how to order wholesale cases of them.

I used to be able to find the original retail value of a set on Brickpicker. Anyone know how I can find that information? Thanks

I notice alot of sellers are marking up there lego sets by almost 50 to 75% when there still selling for the normal price either on Lego.com, Target , Wallmart, etc etc. Are they realing feeling that people are to lazy to do research to find a cheaper price and will just desperately overspend on Ebay??

I have (sealed) bags #4-9 of this set, as well as instruction book 3. I know it would be fairly valuable if it were complete but wondering what you would do with the parts I have. Try to complete the set via bricklink and sell it as complete with no box? Try to sell as is? Scrap it and add it to my kids' stash?

  12. Started by Chormeister,

So before Christmas someone sent me a link to a Facebook ad for Harry Potter LEGO on sale. I followed the link and it looked legit, so I took a chance against my better judgement and ordered what I thought was going to be 75954: Hogwarts Great Hall, and 71043: Hogwarts Castle. After not receiving my order (or getting any communication from the vendor) for over a month, I filed a claim with my bank. In the time it took them to process the claim I received the order... shipped directly from China. We all know what that means: bogus bricks... So, I tried to contact the seller, but the website was gone and the phone number disconnected. I fell for their scam (hence the "stupi…

  15. Hi all, I hope I have posted this in the right place. I'm planning on building A Game of Thrones MOC, but having never designed a MOC before I am looking for tips. Is there any software available to help plan out a MOC?

  16. Hi, I have some (possibly rare) "Lego system" poly-bags from 1997. If someone could give me an estimated value on these, (since there's no 4-digit number to search by, for some reason) I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your time! (P. S. The image contains 3 different poly-bags)

For the past year or so, I've been shipping from different post offices, depending on what I'm doing at work on that day. Most of the time I don't have any problems, I search for the best deal for shipping my items, print the label, whack it on the box and drop at the most convenient post office. Item sells yesterday to a Greek buyer, printed the label through PayPal at £15. I entered the weight and dimensions as usual, calculated cost, bought shipping, no problems arise. Fast forward to this morning, dropping box of at a place I'd used before but normally avoid as I had a few problems with them in the past. Usual smiley looking c***head watches me coming to th…

What approaches do people take to protect themselves from unscrupulous buyers who falsely claim minifigs are missing from sealed sets and want a refund? Pop seals, verify and reduce asking price? Can you insist refunds will not be permitted due to missing parts?

Maybe this has been asked before, but being new, and not able to find an answer within these walls - are collectors actually paying close to the pricing guidelines provided within? For example, I've determined that pricing guides for baseball cards, comics, trains, etc. are very high compared to what collectors are actually willing to pay. So, is it the same with LEGO? Thank you for your help. Best Regards, kayakjack

My wife has about 38 minifigures and just moved into a new office. She wants to display them in a picture frame style display...something that can hold about 50 minifigures so that she has space to add more. She was looking at Amazon but then I told her I would ask here to see if anyone has any suggestions. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I'm waiting to hear back from ITD orders for approval. But I have a few questions for anyone who's had an ITD account: 1. How much do they discount the sets? 10%, 15%, 40%? 2. Is there a minimum order quantity? 3. How long does an order take to arrive? 4. What are the buying requirements when purchasing sets? 5. Can I buy a few sets of a certain theme, and a few sets from other themes? Or just one or two themes? 6. Is there a yearly minimum order quantity that I have to meet each year? I'm a online subscription business, and I would use ITD for my inventory. I would be shipping LEGO sets every month to my subscribers. …
