My best benchmark for analyzing this set is Jules Vernes which sits at about $60 on amazon. In terms of the lego set merits, Vernes > Austen by a long shot. However, is Jane Austen more culturally relevant than Jules Vernes among the Lego buying set? Seems like yes!

No, but as with Costco you’ll never know what sets will make it to clearance or get bigger mark downs. Still salty over notre dame. Milky Way did make it to slick deals so not really surprised it sold out. i picked up Spider-Man last year for $140 during Black Friday on Amazon and I don’t think ink I’ve seen it discounted anywhere else before.

Am I wrong to expect better than 20-25% off from sams

I picked up the Milky Way galaxy(OOS, Harry Potter great hall and Lamborghini countach. May go back for Trevi fountain and Malfoy manor. Set to note is Spider-Man art which is retired if still available.

Search for Lego - Sam's Club Sams has a few sets with discounts. Anything worthwhile?

I read about Russell James Liberman a bit through some of my father's hot rod magazines as a child, and being mentioned by a motorcycle drag racer as his inspiration. ( Can't remember the racer, only that it was on one of the EasyRiders video magazine VHS tapes from early 90s. ) I can recall some of the pictures with Pamela Hardy standing beside the different "Jungle Jim" funny cars. Thanks to your post, I discovered she very recently was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Far out.

1000% agree. In fact I go way farther. Almost anyone that asks too many questions especially if the listing is clear, is already flagged by me as a potential problematic customer and sometimes I just block them for that. eBay is great in allowing us to do that. I wish amazon had such an option as well.
