Best Star Wars news in a while. Maybe we will get a wave without a remake. Maybe. Can’t wait to see some clone battle action again!

Looks like the poor launch has given this set an excellent review on SAH. 2.5 stars currently . I expect it to drop further as more people get jaded with the terrible way this whole thing was done.

I think you echo the sentiment of most Lego Star Wars fans. Most of us are excited for 75192 but couldn't tell by the negativity from the last few pages in this thread . ? "The rear end is ugly"? "the fins are too tall"? " the minifigs aren't enough" ?"my 10179 is losing its prestige /value "? "lego needs to stop rehashing Ucs sets" For the love of Lego can't we be glad it's not an exact remake like Death Star /winter village. Just recognize Lego saw a demand and provided us with the 75192. No one is forcing any of us to buy this , but those that don't want to shell out 1k+ for a 10179 will gladly get one. The negativity on BPer the last two years just drives me crazy. People used to be so happy and excited for new things on here. Overall I feel this is to test us AFOLs and how much of the focus their marketing and set designs should be geared towards. Basically how much money they can make off us for throwing a bone or two our way. Day 1 for me since I would gladly support more "super" sets that are meant for us big kids. I can't blame anyone for waiting til oct for double Vip tho but who knows how big a backorder there could end up being .

bogus bricks stepped up their game significantly . Still only 400 usd

Is it safe to say that this officially brings the Golden Age of Lego investing and reselling to a close? Between the remakes and all the counterfeits of large sets and the over saturation of resellers you could argue the golden age may have waned a few years ago. However 10179 exemplified the possibilities of reselling and investing and now that it's poised to be replaced with a bigger , better , newer version it would seem the star is coming back down to earth. Oct 1, a new age dawns. I'm excited for this set but at the same time sad to see our star finally burn out .

Maybe Destinys Bounty . Otherwise no. This is Lego's own license so they will pump it out like The Lego Movie and Lego Batman. Plus if they do sell out there are already fakes to fill the gaps . Might be better off looking at other sets on clearance as this may spike interest in the TV series sets .

The only sets of the wave I have seen so far that interests me are the Republic Tank and Vader Transformation. Rest are very forgettable and don't bring anything interesting to the table . It's like Lego is trying to avoid remakes but TFA really didn't give much to work with. I'm not sure what all the hub bub over the bounty hunters is though . Nobody wants an army of Dengars or 4-Loms. Buy once and forget for the most part . However I really wish they added more clones in with the Tank . Maybe there's still hope for a clone battle pack . Prequels and clone wars are going to be what the next generations of collectors coming out of their dark ages will look for . Since those will most likely be a part of their childhood and actually have Wars and battles instead of character development and some action which said character finds them self in . Plus the OT is generally on a 3-4 year remake cycle ? We see maybe 1-2 CW/prequel per wave now which I think means the remakes are gonna be on 5-6 year cycle at the soonest. As a buyer /collector I would pick up another Dropship/AT-OT over three AT-ATs.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Movie Discussion
P38bam023 replied to Ed Mack's topic in Star Wars Sets
Last 40 min I probably teared up 3-4 times and had just as many geekgasms. I was surprised at how many scenes in the trailers didn't make the final cut tho. -
My first place of blame for the Revan was on all the people who bought hundreds of individual key chain orders to get the poly. Then I come around and realize this is really TLG's fault since they didn't implement a minimum order price to get it, 50-75 could have been a good threshold. I dunno why Lego even bothered putting Revan on the promo piece I got in the mail. *sigh*
-
Maybe so. Only a few sets are OoS and they are small sets. I bet they sold tens of thousands of key chains last night though. I'll just get my At-st from Amazon since they price matched Wal-mart.
-
The Rogue One sets are up to add to bag finally . However when I add to bag , no Revan lol . Go figure .
-
If I was going to hedge a bet on which one set from this wave would have potential for holiday flipping , it's the AT-ST. It hasn't been released for quite a while , famous from episode V, Vl,and games and is a decent price point. Only downside would be minifig selection . The other sets we really don't have much background or information on their roles and screen time . Hover tank could be the next TFA Snowspeeder for all we know ,one tiny scene which was used in the trailer . I came up with the idea to part out Krennics shuttle or two to pay for my hobby . The way I figured (purely speculative) it'll break down like this the first couple weeks. Death trooper~ 10-12$ each , Krennic ~ 30-40$ (based off Ahsoka price from Combat Frigate ), Pao and Bodhi ~ 5-8 $each, K-2SO~ 20-25$, plus double VIP saving 9$ , and Revan poly ~ 15ish. On the conservative side you'd get the set for 81 plus tax , but selling the minifigs gets you about 95$. So you basically break even after fees and still have the shuttle ! Yay! If you are able to get the upper end you'd make 25 plus still have the shuttle ! I would gather if you wanted to part out it all the shuttle would probably go for 40 ish. These are all just numbers I made up but this seems feasible . And these sets have much more appeal than TFA sets. I'm started to think we will never see a TFA set again ( not much to work with anyways ) with a new movie each year and rebels.
-
I'm skipping out on Force Friday this year I think . Unless there is some kinda giveaway that's worth trying to get (kinda wanted that chewy from target last year). Otherwise I will just buy from TLG online store and get double VIP and Revan which after this may be able to sell for 15-20ish. which really would only make the AT-ST $15 or so? Anyways we are going to see Revan tank maybe even down to $10. It is an awesome minifig so maybe this'll balance out the all new supply .

2016 Exclusives - Rumours and Speculation
P38bam023 replied to Val-E's topic in General Collecting and Investing Forum
Has there been any whispers about the UCS Snowspeeder? I was expecting it to be out by now to be honest with as much talk there was earlier this year about it . Maybe a force Friday thing? Or could it be delayed due to the assault in hoth debacle? -
So does this mean that certain person (T) is no longer a legend but actually canon again? Maybe we will get lucky and get an actual good minifig for May the 4th next year based off him unless he's in the winter wave. I have a feeling there will be some characters arcs introduced in this season that we will see later in rogue one, just a hunch . Nice to see a little more early background on certain pilot (W) who is the original Poe Dameron. I preferred clone wars but this season seems to have me intrigued more and more . And to reiterate from a couple posts earlier , Y-wings!!

5004419 - Classic Knights Minifigure Promo set
P38bam023 replied to Nsheppard9101's topic in Castle Sets
I agree that this would be my favorite so far. Nice to see Crusade castle brought up again. I wish TLG, along with a lot of AFOLs , would go back to more traditional castle but I guess it doesn't sell well to kids anymore. The demand for the previous two may get a bump from new AFOLs coming out of their dark ages who are completetionists but unless TLG keeps the trend annually (not sure how many "classic" themes they have left besides town) I wouldn't consider more than a nice bonus from TLG for us AFOLs and not so much investors. ( which I am not). -
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Movie Discussion
P38bam023 replied to Ed Mack's topic in Star Wars Sets
I'm very much more excited for the Lego sets for this movie vs TFA. I think I saw 3 new imperial troopers(death trooper, beach trooper, tank pilots) in there plus bringing the war feeling back to Star Wars . After TFA, the Lego group is actually probably glad they have this movie otherwise they would have to tap more into prequel/ clone wars remakes for sets since their wasn't much to work with from TFA set wise . -
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Movie Discussion
P38bam023 replied to Ed Mack's topic in Star Wars Sets
The force sensitive royal guards are Imperial Sovereign protectors who are trained by the Inquisitors. Jedi aren't generally easy to take out so the Empire had to have more than just Palp and Vader to do all the leg work. -

Anyone else curious who this guy is? Based off his posture and dress it reminds me a lot of Grand Admiral Thrawn. I hope they wouldn't alter that Legend character that much to change his species if it is in fact him. -

I'm pretty sure Vader is in it. He is personally in charge of tracking down the stolen plans. It is nice not seeing any light sabers in a SW trailer but Vader will surely use one in combat and heck the Imperial Guards are even force sensitive so we may finally see some of their combat skills. -
Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series UCS - Wish List
P38bam023 replied to cvail8's topic in Star Wars Sets
To be honest I think Lego/Disney are leaving the prequels/clone wars in the past and trying to move forward with their own vision of Star Wars. Which is a shame since that era has the greatest diversity of vehicles/ locations versus TFA which was rather bland and there was not a single vehicle I could say I would want in UCS form from. However since I am certain we will never see a UCS version of the Venator I built my own off of Anio's design.- 399 replies

Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series UCS - Wish List
P38bam023 replied to cvail8's topic in Star Wars Sets
UCS AT-AT would be awesome but doing it proper minifig scale would put it at least 300-400 range? Maybe include a built in handle on top like the motorized one. If they do another smaller UCS I could go for an A-wing especially since it seems to be the main fighter in Rebels so far. Prolly 120ish range. I would really like to see a TIE bomber to replace the fighter. It's the only OT TIE not made into UCS yet. I wouldn't mind if they redid the interceptor into a non blue version either. I'm very happy that they are most likely redoing the snow speeder since it was 2-3 years before my dark age emergence. Only other one I wouldn't mind a redo is the Y-wing. The previous looked good except those thrusters were a little droopy. -
First Copy of the Brickpicker Book is in the House
P38bam023 replied to Jeff Mack's topic in Site Information and Updates
I believe your right about it not creating a firestorm of new investors even though some guys here seem to believe other wise. This reminds me of a Lego beckett essentially which I think will be cool to see what your collection may be worth and its current trends. I pre-ordered mine a couple days after it was available to do so. I'm mostly hoping to see if some photos of my collection made it into the final product. -
STAR WARS VII - "The Force Awakens" - Movie Discussion
P38bam023 replied to gregpj's topic in Star Wars Sets
I'm not too big of a fan of it either but maybe is serves some functional purpose. I theorized that maybe it's an ancient Sith saber since it looks unstable by the cracklings of the main light blade and the other two are vents since there's a slight delay between main shaft and the sides. Or could just have been built to intimidate enemies. Who knows til the movie comes out really but all likelihood is JJ being flashy and getting some kids hyped up for something that "looks awesome"
