I wonder if it ties in to some degree with the Kingdoms Joust. That set is rather overlooked here as I see but could retire anytime in my opinion.

I feel like chess sets are solid, for not only are they a game, but they provide a ton of figures. The Kingdom's Chess Set has 32 figures (or 28 without the rooks) which ends up being about $1.5/figur

  • I could tell you it is a big sack of crap and the worst kind of investment in the history of mankind ever.....but I would be lying. :cheese:

  • Incase anyone missed it the Kingdoms Chess Set retired a few days ago. I cleaned out my local LEGO store but as long as you dont live near me you might be able to find them for retail, not bad conside

Sold Old is a sign that the end is nigh. I bought 5 of these and I hope to get a good return by Xmas but, I'm not sure whether to part out or not.

Been EOL in the US since early 2013, wouldn't be surprised if it's the end of it in other countries aswell.

Thought it retired last fall in the US

It is really disappearing now. Last week they were still available on some webshops. Now, if you still find them the prices went up. I have 4 now and wondering if I should buy more.

I took 4 with 2x Vip , and the boxes were like new but with sign of months of storage.

I think it's EOL for sure , took 5 months to clear the storage on this set , look at 79105 EOL in US after 50% clearance and still sold in EU.

It's been gone in the US since around Halloween or Thanksgiving.  I remember thinking I should have picked some up then, and then discovering that no one (in Southern California) had them.

I lucked out last month, and found a few at Legoland California, and snapped them up.  But they have otherwise been gone from the states for awhile now.

I bought one at Legoland Florida this past weekend. They still had a good amount left. If someone really wants one, it could be time for a vacation.

How many is "a good amount"?  I'm about two hours away.

This set supposedly went EOL about this time last year. But then came back in Oct/Nov time.

Until the Lego site says Retired ot Retiring Soon, I'm going to be suspicious about this set saying sold out.

The last 3 in the UK went for

I saw at least 20 through the different shops with most of them in the minifigure market. They also had a few SSDs if you want to really go nuts.
