Yup. Thanks to various Craigslist purchases made this year I've had to tear-down way more sets than I've built. Like um... probably 40 sets torn down to 4 built. I feel much shame.... The other confession is that I like it. I do it while watching Netflix and there's something oddly satisfying about it. And I'm a wee bit anal about it too. I follow the instructions in reverse and create the same bag layout to make it feel like the set is new for whoever builds it next (hopefully me). Plus it helps me identify any missing or incorrect pieces that I need to bricklink. The next step will be to switch from hand-writing the bag numbers to using a label maker. :-…

So a few days ago I bought 2 EV3s. One was to build and one I'm keeping MISB. Here is my issue, so we all know that you can build different models as shown on the box, but did anyone know that there is only instructions in the box to build one of the models? The rest of the models (including the main attraction, the robot that is prominently displayed on the front of the box) can be built but you have to download the instructions from a website. That isn't really a huge deal or so I thought but when I printed out the instructions for another build, it was 117 pages!! Seriously? With ink costing more than my actual printer that just isn't worth it to me to be wasting all t…

Why the spoiler tag you ask? Well, let us just say like many of Citizen Bricks' other products, this too is rather 'adult' in material. Don't get weird though; it's still Lego for Pete's sake. Besides it's hilarious and check out those dollar bills! This should be right at home next to the Breaking Bad meth lab. I practically forgot the website link for purchase. Sorry about that.

My family does a Winter Village every year. This year, we added a bunch of Star Wars stuff, along with other Lego winter/ice themed elements. Here's a few photos. If you would like to see more, here's the album on Flickr

A random browse to their site led me to a couple of designs which for some reason where not featured across the main page. It was only by an odd chance I even found these to begin with hidden on the instructions for sale page. Anywho, check out these digital renders of their latest items for sale. So I bought and built 79103 Turtle Lair Attack and noticed one of the pieces in the instructions is different from the piece included in the set. The piece in question is the black cage-like piece pictured below: The one in the instructions has only two pegs, but the one I have has four. Will this have any effect on the resale value or is this just an instruction misprint? Just curious if I should contact Walmart or Lego regarding it as it is very noticeably different and I don't want the next owner to think I'm trying to pull a fast one over on them or anything.

Featuring the streamline mobile home style of American diners from the 1930’s and 40’s, here is the Hot Dog Diner offering plenty of detail such as a counter dominating the interior with bright red high counter stools, napkin dispensers, condiment bottles and a dessert display. Set up your short order cook in the kitchen where a fully equipped grill, refrigerator, coffee machine and a microwave are ready for use. There is plenty of seating for your guests near the window and even a classic jukebox for some oldie but goodie entertainment. A removable roof for easy access and the building is fitted with technic pegs to connect to your existing modular collection. So "doo-wo…

Brick City Depot just released two new alternate model designs for your custom cityscape. Instructions available for purchase and download here. I'm just a little surprised to not see these physically built as they typically are from the site.

Having the Christmas spirit in me today, I thought I would start a thread where people could share stories or incidents affecting people other than themselves pertaining to Lego in a positive way. ie. Making a kids day because you didn't want that shredder polybag that you randomly gave him. I know this forum is about investing, making money, knowing what our plastic is worth etc. etc. but it feels like we forget how the end result can really affect people who whole heartedly love Lego. I will start with a link a coworker sent me today. http://globalnews.ca/news/1722843/how-kevin-bieksa-buying-a-star-wars-lego-set-changed-a-young-mans-life/

Well I have 4 more bags left to go and my Sandcrawler build will be complete. Hopefully it will rain this weekend so I can work on it. I am going to finish one of the front side panels with brown flat 1x4 and 1x2 tiles to cover the studs. I will post pics but want to see how it looks before coving the entire vehicle. I want to add power functions and picked up a 9398 Crawler last night and before I open it up to pull the power elements wanted to get others with some experience doing this advice and/or point me to a link with some tips. If anyone who has built the Sandcrawler and the 9398 could chime in and tell me about the feasibility I would appreciate it. Al…

What have any of you found as the best way to orgainize these things: Complete sets, extra pieces for building, and your minifigure collection? I currently try to consolidate as many sets as I can in one box (not all of my sets are in one box. I have like, 30+ boxes, 10 of which are huge. What I mean is that if I get a large bin and I can squish 20 sets in there or fit 10 sets comfortably, you better believe I am squishing them). The sets are also orgainized (as much as possible) by theme/subtheme. I have a box for DC, and one for Marvel, both the same size. I have more than 2/3rds of the boxes dedicated to Star Wars, and I try to keep them orgainized, but I have wa…

Hi guys, just a quick update but a micro build I am very pleased with! I have wanted to build a micro Falcon for sometime now and this actually took a bit longer than I had hoped but I am really happy with the end result. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Its only 4x4 but I have managed to get in all the details that make the Falcon the iconic ship it is. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr The base wasn't part of my original idea but I had the Falcon on a tan plate just as a random support and suddenly thought it would look quite cool if there was a micro Mos Eisley below. Untitled by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr The colour of th…

I am a LEGO addict for many years now. I am female, in my late 50's and love to build. My hubby bought me the Imperial Star Destroyer UCS for our 25th anniversary about 13 years ago. Our first adult date was the first Star Wars movie (We have known each other since we were babies). I was so excited. I like the BrickPicker site and am slowly getting my Brickfolio logged in. I do have a question though. I have an extensive collection of LEGO Creator Town sets and the numbers do not come up when I want to add them to my Brickfolio. Is there a problem in the system or just that they aren't worth much? I became a collector of these town sets back in March and have built them …

Discussion / Gallery I just came across this while looking at a couple additions towards the last Iron Builder event that ended in a regretful forfeit by one competitor. Below the image above are links to the main discussion topic with rules for entering and gallery on Flickr if you're curious. (*cough* *cough* brickcrazyhouse ) Anyway below are some good inspiration critters to check out.

Don't recall anyone else discussing this, so I apologize if this is old news. Has any seen the traveling LEGO Americana Roadshow that's currently on tour at various malls across America this year? It's currently at the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham. I only had time to snap quick iPhone pics of 4/9 attractions, but I plan to go back Labor Day Weekend with my camera for a complete documentation.

Started looking around at what's out there. The best thing I could find were both IKEA solutions. Either a series of LACK coffee tables (about $80 / 4x8 space) or a build-your-own table using: 1x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00251135/ 4x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90217972/ I like the table better because it will be higher. Each one is about 2x4 and runs $20 a table, so about the same price as 8 LACKs. The other option seems to be plywood and folding legs, which runs about 70$ a table and requires sanding, sealing, and painting. For $10 I'll go the IKEA route. I think I will start with 4 tables and expand from there.…

Hi, all i recently went to brickfair 2016 (cool, right!?) and bought 5 modern millatary hemets, and 6 combat vests, and a LOT of brickarms. I tried to build this gun store thing, but it didn't really work out. Any suggestions for a zombie apocalypse moc? Thanks, Jack
