For those in the Technic community I know there has been some interest in trying to speed up Sheepo's Mustang. It is a great model.... but a little faster would be nice. I know there has been at least one member trying to add a pneumatic engine to the beast..... something that I also would like to try. Anyways, here is my version of Sheepo's Mustang..... with an RC Titan motor. Plenty of details of the build, specs, etc. are on my MOCpages site: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/412797 Because it is all there I am not going to repeat it all here. But really fun build. Read all about it and share if you'd like. Any comments are also welcome..... although preferably those in t…

As the title suggests....When and where possible, once built, I display my sets in a glass cabinet so the dust is never a problem. For shelved displays, what do you guys do to keep your sets looking fresh and like new? A co2 keyboard duster seems like an obvious choice, but I'm still curious if there are simpler, better ideas?

  4. I don't know who of you followed this, but quite some time ago there was this boy with autism who really is into LEGO and into the titanic, so he wanted to build a gigantic LEGO Titanic. It seems as if he's finally been able to build his dream and honestly I'm so happy for him! Here you can find his homepage: http://www.brynjarkarl.com/ Maybe some of you also appreciate this. To me this is so beautiful, because to me LEGO never really lost it's magic and this boy and his dream of building a titanic just represents a lot of this magic. I always feel reminded of my childhood and I'm just so happy if I see LEGO (don't know if you people can follow ;-) ).

Here is a question for the builders, what is your favorite part? It can range from something you find aesthetically pleasing or universally usable.

Hi all. I've made a Himitsu Bako which is a Secret Box (also known as a puzzle box) out of Lego. This box has two ways to get into the hidden compartments and is a fun build, especially for kids. I decided to make a video tutorial with a parts list if anyone fancies making one for themselves. Have fun! Rick. The video can be found here:

I looked at buying the Lego Mixer set but the cost was pretty prohibitive so I decided to build my own. I hope you like it and any feedback is appreciated. It's taken me almost five months and was pretty difficult as I'm new to Lego and there was a lot of trial and error before I managed to get it right. The ride breaks down, just like the real thing and fits onto the truck bed and into the other truck in the images. I have a youtube video which shows it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrgOIbpqKl0

Hi Brickpickers! I just wanted to share an idea I was thinking of to see if anyone has done something similar before. By trade I am a draughtsman / designer and use the standard drawing programme AutoCAD. To brush up on my 3d modelling / new inventor programme, I was thinking of recreating our little beloved bricks and assembling them on the computer. Each individual part will need to be drawn out and then they can be pieced together individually. Due to the eductational nature of this, I thought throwing lego into the mix would make it much more interesting Has anyone done this before? What would be a good set to start with? Personally was thinking one of the st…

I really like the TIE + Slave 1 + X-wing here: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/14102-how-to-build-your-sealed-set-while-retaining-the-most-value/#comment-458852 But it gets me thinking.. I'd really like a display frame that showed them fighting eachother. Like have the TIE attacking X-wing and Slave 1 off to the side but all in different angles, as if in space. I imagine the weight would be a problem. Has anybody seen something like this? I like seeing these shelf displays, but I think they would get kind of old sitting kind of bland like that and feel like an actual action scene would have way more pop. Maybe even throw a piece of cardboard with a space backdrop …

So as I recently got back into LEGO, I realized I don't like little sets. Reasons: 1) They're too small to display on their own, and look strange beside a large set unless you have an entire theme all together. And if you don't have a large focal point, it just looks like a bunch of random scenes mixed together. Especially when not on a LEGO baseplate (such as on a table, shelf, or the carpet). In order to get a nice looking scene you may need the entire theme, which may cost thousands of dollars (in the case of Harry Potter). Even if you have them all, some themes can still look kind of bare when laid out together (like The Hobbit). 2) They take up a lot of room. A cou…

  13. I don’t really recall if anyone may have wanted to know how to build the San Diego Comic-Con The Ghost Starship exclusive mini-build but here goes anyway. Big credit goes to BrickTsar on YouTube for making a full video review with real good zoomed in shots of the parts list and a time lapse build slower than the previous Batmobile one. There was a few neat techniques and just a couple limited pieces which are the ice cream cone in black and the printed dome piece but everything else should be relatively BrickLinkable. I had to omit the astromech Chopper due to his torso and legs not being available in LDD. Be sure to click on each image if you need it enlarged same as b…

For those who build I was wondering. When building do you prefer building by instructions an "Emmet", or building without instructions "Master Builder"? I'm way more to the side of without. Just a big kid who never paid enough attention to every step. That and I still have way more fun building what ever from a pile of bricks. ***/f is the polar opposite, prefers building with instruction, and "having it right".

Started looking around at what's out there. The best thing I could find were both IKEA solutions. Either a series of LACK coffee tables (about $80 / 4x8 space) or a build-your-own table using: 1x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00251135/ 4x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90217972/ I like the table better because it will be higher. Each one is about 2x4 and runs $20 a table, so about the same price as 8 LACKs. The other option seems to be plywood and folding legs, which runs about 70$ a table and requires sanding, sealing, and painting. For $10 I'll go the IKEA route. I think I will start with 4 tables and expand from there.…

  21. First, let me start by saying that I must give credit where credit is due and I mostly copied this build as best I could from the pictures at this link https://www.flickr.c...N06/6937426891/ Second, I hope this is ok. I've always wanted to attempt this but I'm not very creative. I also wanted to make this my own by altering some things and not trying to make an exact copy. Level 4 (top): reserved for the 75034 Death Star Troopers set with large cannon. Level 3: Emperor's chair with window (will be accompanied by Royal Guards from 75034) Level 2: Stormtrooper's area? I'll place some Stormtroopers from set 75078 on this level. Level 1 (bottom): instead of the tra…

Hey guys! I came across a very talented Japanese builder, who makes videos of his pop-up building creations. From what I can gather they require more than 10K pieces and take him more than a year (200 hours) to make. What I'm more interested in though is how he generated the instructions and got the piece numbers at the end of this video: Did he use the Digital Designer to do the entire thing first? Take screenshots of each layer? Figure out the piece numbers for each? Is there some other tool he used to do this for him automatically? Quite an amazing monumental effort either way. Thanks in advance for any info, Jay
