Is it just me, or has the way the TRU site works changed recently? Before, i could follow from a set to a store stock checker, which would tell me which local stores actually had the item in question. Now i seem to get a generic store finder, helping me to simply locate the stores, which doesn't help me find sets i'm looking for Just me?

So I'm having a party tonight and nipped into my local Tesco's for beer and what not, anyway it has the self scanners so swiped my clubcard picked up the handset and headed straight for the Lego isle as you do. So I started scanning random sets to check if any were discounted without being marked down, which does happen quite often with Tesco's but seemed like no joy. So I turned the corner and noticed a load of random large sets still at full retail but scattered about in disarray so I picked up one of the Mos Eisley Cantina's scanned it....... I was kinda amazed scanned at

  11. Not read much about Smyths (UK/EIR toy retailer) packaging when it comes to delivery. Anyone have any experience ordering larger sets though them? I know there's a thread on this but i think its mainly read by our NA brethren so thought i might get some opinions posting in the UK forum. As an FYI from what I've experienced: The good: John Lewis Amazon Tesco (click and collect) Asda (Click and collect) ToysR US The bad: Argos

Has anyone idea how long Asda will hold stuff for you when you order by click and collect? Want to order stuff stuff before the £10 off for spending £50 ends, but won't be back in the UK for another 2 weeks. Can't find mention of how long on their site.

I'm going to be running a workshop with some clients and I wanted to use Lego as a team building exercise. I want 3 sets which are quite challenging to build, interesting and cost approximately £50 each. I will be swapping bricks between the sets so the candidates have to negotiate between themselves. Does anyone have any suggestions on what sets would be good for this exercise?

Hey, Anyone know of any good stores that sell older Lego in London? I'm not talking Argos and Lego Store etc. Wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that might still shelve recently retired items? Or am i effectively asking if anyone knows where I can get a Unicorn?

  17. I have aquired a Lego set produced for employees of a wind generating company of Borum Riffgrund 1 wind farm in the German sector of the North Sea. It is a 559 piece wind turbine, work platform with a crane and little helicopter. I can't find any value for it probably because only a limited amount have been produced. The model set number is 4002015. Would it be of value to a collector/investor? Any information would be appreciated

  19. I need to rant! UK supermarkets don't know the meaning of the word Clearance. I was in Tesco today and they had LOTR sets on Clearance. At full price! Ok fine, moving on.... Then i saw on the clearance shelf two Deloreans, with badly damaged boxes. I checked with the floor manager, these too were at full price. So how much off for the damaged boxes, I asked. He went and checked, then came back with an offer of 10%. 10%!!!!!! I can get that off at the lego store this month. And get a nice box. Rant over. And relax........
