LEGO IDEAS / CUUSOO

Discussion for collecting and investing with LEGO IDEAS / CUUSOO themed sets.

  1. Is it just me but I'd really love a League of Legends minifigure series. Can somebody please petition Lego to work out a deal for the license, because I remember playing the game like 5 years ago and would love to see an Easter bunny Teemo or corporate Mundo figure. Added bonus it would be extremely popular (how many play this game like 50 million now or something?)and make us all a tonne of money!

  2. very cool. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/41453

This recent entry is great, and represents not only a great Ideas entry but an architecturally impressive building: The Milwaukee Art Museum. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/fe154595-dc80-49de-b009-eed7933d3886/official_comments#content_nav_tabs For those that have never seen or don’t know about it, the museum was designed by the world renowned Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava. It was Calatrava’s first building design in the US. Here’s a pic of the Calatrava’s building and the Lego Ideas entry: For those that live in or near NYC, Calatrava also designed the recent WTC Oculus: Please support if you like this!

Now this isn't my project, and I wouldn't usually post about a project (because if we did that there would be innumerable threads on here!) but this one has caught my attention! I'm not even sure how far-reaching Pingu was/is but it was definitely important in my childhood - it was a cartoon my younger siblings liked that I also, being older, could see was funny and enjoyable. Anyways, this project captures the essence of Pingu PERFECTLY! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/49930 have a watch for a laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FnErsFpi3s

  6. Announced today, releasing 6/1/22 for $169.99. 5/25 for VIPs. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/vincent-van-gogh-the-starry-night-21333 Original IDEAS submission for reference: I feel like Lego actually improved upon the original submission while still staying true to the the artistic elements of the submission.

  7. I saw this posted on the LEGO Ideas page and thought that this would be a fantastic set! Hopefully it gets the 10,000 supporters and becomes an official LEGO set. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1128 The guy who came up with it posted on Eurobricks, which includes an actual built version and it looks even better! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84461&st=0 I would buy this the instant it became available! I love that it has so many pieces (4304) because it really needs to in order to accurately portray the castle.

  8. 10338 - LEGO ICONS - Transformers Bumblebee Seems like a strange design for this one.

  9. Started by stephen_rockefeller,

I guess I am a little confused on the whole Idea of CUUSOO. So once it gets 10,000 suporters then what? Does it go to production for retail sale? The reason why I ask is because all the hype about Purdue Pete reaching 10,000 in just a few days. Is it on its way to retail shelves? I for one have no interest in this, and I imagine that few people outside Purdue students or Alumni would either. I am an Arizona State graduate so you can see why this does not interest me in the slightest.

This is a pretty cool creation with (now) under 100 supporters.. I truly wish it would make it to the retail.. attractive, small enoughf for Ideas set.. original https://ideas.lego.com/projects/6aa6e40f-b3dd-4e83-9771-d47997f5856a

  11. After a little digging into Alex Jones' flickr gallery, I came across this beauty. An Ultimate Collector Series build of the Delorean from Back to the Future Part II! I mean absolutely no disrespect to the Delorean on CUUSOO that passed review because that build is a nice one. It really is, specially for minifigures. But seriously, this model leaves that little one in the dust! And besides, if this was the one on CUUSOO that did pass, it would be a winner on so many levels!! 1.) Back to the Future - It's almost 30 years later from the original film with the anniversary coming up soon, and it's still a cult classic! 2.) Delorean - This build captures the original car so …

This is one of my favorite models EVER! These are just three slightly modified versions of the same basic model. http://www.flickr.com/photos/coleblaq/6795849859/in/photostream/

I was reading this article on brickset.com earlier today and I thought that I was mention this to other members. The article is about possibly adding deadlines for Cuusoo projects. I was just wondering about other members opinions on this idea. Do you think it would work? Do you support this idea? I personally support this idea because I have seen at least 50 Cuusoo projects with less than 100 supporters. At that rate, it could possibly take decades for the project to reach 10,000 supporters.

  15. A new collaborative project by Grant Davis and Jason Allemann brings what I think is one of the most original Lego Ideas idea yet. I saw this and have voted immediately. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/151695 Superb........ Over 2,000 supporters and it's been up for less than one week.

  16. I saw a news post on Brickset the other day telling how Etadyne Industries has available on their website a set of custom instructions by itself ($15) or a custom kit of the "Serenity" spaceship from the TV series "Firefly" that was submitted to CUUSOO and was then rejected by LEGO ($385, plus $11 for shipping & handling). They also offer a set of minifigures to go with the set ($85, including S&H) Here's the link. CUUSOO - Firefly "Serenity" kit - Etadyne Industries The kit is comprised of 2,186 new pieces, which at $385 is about 18 cents a piece. As far as custom kits go, this is actually a pretty good price considering.

This is a really cool take on the hulk buster suit. I love the scale of it and as I've said before I'm a sucker for any set that has a mech in it. Looks like a really cool build. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/103777

Obviously, TLG has a formula to assess ROI, and that is definitely the most important factor for them, but outside of that is there aspect that drives their decision one way or the other? Seems like sets withh IP face additional difficulty, there are still sets from 2015 that are “in review” (the office)

Just wondering if the idea of a ff7 set would be a little too much to ask. The creator of the game is apparently a AFOL. And I want my highway scene with the motorcycle, and truck, and boss... All on an unfinished highway. I'll buy the pieces and make it myself, i don't care.
