General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

For everyone in UK and maybe broader Europe, please be on the lookout for set #40222 offered in large quantities below market value. Reposted from Brickset: Clearly, whoever has taken them will be looking to offload them somewhere so if you are offered any, or see them on eBay, local classified ads, Gumtree, Facebook, or wherever, take screenshots or photos and contact your local police via 101 quoting 13170537540. Not only have the sets been taken but the charity's delivery van has been put out of action too, thus denying even more children a little happiness over the festive period.

Just got this email. Anyone ever use Shipstation? I'm just curious on what people think.

Hey all, just wanted to say Happy New Year to all and this got me thinking. What was the Lego.com discount schedule for last year? Do they typically repeat offers about the same time every year? It sure would be helpful planning if we knew a little more about what they typically do, even if there are no guarantees of what they'll do this year. I know that (Ed or Jeff) Brickpicker had a great article about how to take advantage of the site, but combining that with a little planning could do well for all of us. Thanks in advance, history buffs! Jim

  5. Hi, I'm trying to build a city and want to buy more than a few baseplates. Amazon has a good price, but their quantity limit is 3. Does anyone know when that limit resets so I can make another purchase? A week? A month? The Lego website has a quantity limit of 50 per household, I'm not going to be buying that many, but wondered if that is a hard, lifetime limit, meaning each one I purchase is a countdown to eventually 0 quantity allowed. Do the purchase quantity limits reset on the Lego website? If so, how long does it take? Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you! Edit: I'm only using one account for each site, I don't want to risk being …

  6. Hi, a stupid question. Do I have to pay any duty fee for LEGO I bought in BL that the package is shipped from Singapore? the total value of the LEGO is around USD$900. If I do need to pay, where can I find out how much? Or what is the maximum value that is duty free? THanks

I was wondering if, outside of the european amazons, there were any retailers outside the UK that UK collectors are able to use? I've seen that toys'r'us + barnes & noble deliver to the UK but the problem with them is that once you add on delivery & duty you end up with prices that are the same as here or even a tad more. So are there any EU retailers (since we don't pay duty within the EU) that post to the UK or anywhere else with a good range/reasonable prices that do so? Anywhere that has the 10xxx sets would be even better as those are the ones that we tend to get taken advantage of in terms of MSRP (eg 10217 was

I've been enjoying some good deals thru Kmart's SWYR program. I have thought about joining Meijer's Mperks and/ or Shopko rewards program. The only thing, the nearest one is hundreds of miles away, I would only be buying Legos on-line. Would it be worth it? I know Meijer's had some great Lego deals recently.

Hey, is there a way to print your bricklink want list without images? I just want to print a checklist without the images. I don't see the option or I may be just blind.

I'm sure there is similar threads, but still nice to get some ideas. My kids finally started getting into Lego, and I'm trying to find the sales, deals etc. I found a mom and pop toy store that still has the MH sets and some Lone Ranger, but they haven't discounted. Someone else posted that they got a bunch of polybags at a TJ Maxx So...what are the non traditional places that I need to be looking? Thanks

Check out the links for U.S. carrier's shipping cutoff times for this year. I think I am gonna close my store down on 12/13 since I will be out of town anyway for Xmas and I should be able to ship any orders that weekend to reach customers in time for Xmas. Hope this helps. I would think these would be updated at some point by the carriers to cover their butts. https://www.usps.com/holiday/holiday-shipping-dates.htm http://www.fedex.com/us/holiday/last-days-to-ship.html http://compass.ups.com/ups-holiday-calendar/

Hi there, good people! I have a Mr. Rebrick minifigure (I won it in 2017, but it has the classic face, no sunglasses, dunno if it was a mistake or what). I know it have been sold on eBay for $350 and there are currently 2 being sold on Bricklink, one for $460 and the other for $500. My question is: as more Rebrick contests get held, this minifigure is gonna become less and less rare, right? Should I sell it now or should I keep it and pray for a new version to get released soon, making the one I got more rare? Thanks in advance for your attention!

  15. I would like to sell my box of Legoland 6374 . The box has never been opened and the outer covering is still sealed. This Lego is even blistered (see photos) It is an unique collectorsitem. Is anyone interested in buying this set and how much would you pay for it? Keep in mind that it is a collectorsitem and there are only 2 to be found on the internet in this condition! Kind regards!

My previous best LEGO deal was the free Minifig that got stuck in the cart down at the bottom and my wife and I didn't know it until we got out to the car. Sure we could have (should have) gone back in to pay for it but I guess a little of my guilt was taken away by the fact that it truly was an accident and that we had just spent $750+ at the register on LEGO sets. Actually now I am feeling really guilty and I might have to go back to the store (months later) and pay for it Anyway todays LEGO deal tops that by far. I purchased set 6241 and 6712 from someone on eBay a couple weeks back as a package deal for $45 (the current value of these sets is about $60). Days late…

Okay, I have LEGO going back into the 1960's (yes, acetyl acetate stuff) all the way to the early 2000's or so. Old bricks are in varying condition but the newer stuff is mostly solid. Ranges from old basic set parts - classic Pirates, Castle, Adventurers (pre-Indy), Ninja, Star Wars, Legorado, some later Space stuff (had old blue and gray Space parts, long gone). While most of the instructions are still there, very few boxes survive, just a couple. I have no need for this anymore, and no room to keep it and could use the money more than the LEGO. I would prefer it to go to a good home. I'm in the Houston Texas area - if anyone's interested please let …

Just got an email that they are having good sales at Smyths Toys in the UK. Looks like some Lego can be in there as well. I did not spend a ton of time in there, but maybe there are a few decent finds. Click the image or click here to visit Smyths Toys I also see they have 20% off certain Star Wars sets

  20. I’m stressed out- and I know so may of you are too- so to cope, I’ve been on the hunt for a few sets that have eluded me over the years. Great Deals specifically, money is TIGHT 🙃(Now is the time for people in $ pickles to dump collections you know) I collect SW, Architecture, HP, Creator, Ideas... typical collector themes. I also love and collect (old & new) Bionicle and Ninjago. I can’t keep up with every new Ninjago set, so I generally stick to the dragon, mech, and large building sets. Recently I purchased the just released Ninjago Legacy City Gardens 71741, and realized that I never bought the Ninjago Movie City Docks 70657. I do have the Ninjago Movie…

Has anyone been successful combining Toys R Us egift cards lately? I have been able to do it via their website previously but it is not working today. I recall someone had some some problems after cardcash had a bunch of TRU cards available 9-10 days ago. I would rather not do it in store but if they have removed the ability to do it online I guess in store it must be.

Has anybody checked out an app called Letgo? I've seen it advertised on TV, so I decided to download it. It basically functions as a visual Craigslist, with no buyer or seller fees. I may pick up a 50+ pound bulk lot that was listed on there with a bunch of 2007-2009 Star Wars instruction manuals shown for $350. I'm probably going to list a set or two on there as well; I'll let everyone know how it goes.

  24. I have been collecting Lego set for years and it’s time for me to sell them. Please check my profile worth $4000 if you are interested. I am willing to ship the Lego too. All in perfect condition and from a smoke free home. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

AKA my local Toys R Us. Only the second time I have ever been in one. They have the largest range of Lego I have seen, outstriping the Lego Store. Interestingly they had a lot of discontinued sets, most likely due to the prices they were charging. But some from memory.... 9476 Orc Forge
