Technic Sets

I got this technic set at a local retailer because I have never seen an all white 42077 Rally Car. I think it is a box printing error but wanted to see anyone had more information on this. It looks like the printer ran out of blue when looking at it from the back. On the back it looks the normal but the buggy front is white but it fades to blue. I did notice the number under UPC was different than the other normal blue box rally car at the store. Really wished the box was in better shape but it is what it is. Can someone weight their sealed 42077 set. I am wondering if the weights are similar. Many thanks for any info on this.

This set has retired and available in different times at good discount. I still see some in the wild at rrp. With the upcoming 42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator, I'm thinking this could be an accompanying sets and could see some price rise. Of course there are still the current available range like 42035 which I think should do well regardless. In the mean time, still seeing 42023 perhaps indicate that this is a dud. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I just bought a sealed in mint box 8051 Motorbike set for $65. It's a set that I have always wanted but I'm not sure if I should open it or not. It seems like these sets are around $120 new, which is quite a bit more than the MSRP so I wonder how much more the price will go up? It's a bit scary to think that as soon as I break the seal the value gets cut in half.

Found not yet released 42000 Grand Prix Racer at Toys R Us today!! Went to three Toys R us today in MA area, one of them has two beautiful new 42000 Technic F1 sets!! I almost pulled the trigger, but I figured that I can get one at regular MSRP by waiting another two weeks. Wondering how Toys R Us got those "not yet released" set thought.

I have recently started breaking up a bulk lot of technic set, mostly from the 2000s. Unfortunately most are not complete. But the BP MISB prices for them seem to be very high, compared to the RRPs back in 2007-8 etc... So do large Technic sets always do well? Especially ones that are popular vehicles, trucks, diggers etc... Also with the extra long life span of some sets, like Death Star and the Modulars do Technic sets still adhere to the 2-2.5 year lifespan. A quick check shows that all 2011 sets have gone but all the 2012 are available at the moment. 9398 Crawler is at 20% off at various places in the UK. 42073 - BASH!

This honestly feels like a wierd question even to me, but pretty much what the title is asking. I'm trying to remember the last time I saw a TECHNIC set in a physical store. Is there some kind of 'new' spot that retailers decided to place the TECHNIC sets at and I just don't know? Where do you guys find the TECHNIC sets at your store? I feel lost here and could use some help, please.

This is a bunch of technic parts along with some manuals, but the sets aren't 100% complete. Should I sell the different boxes separately, like "power functions" then "pins" etc? Or should I sell it all as one big Technic lot? Opinions are welcome.
