Since we have a pretty popular "Complaint Thread", I thought it might be a good idea to start an "I Love It! Thread".

I'd like to begin with:

I love it when I make a big $500 or more purchase because of a sale or great deal and shortly afterward make enough back in sales to cover the costs and then some.

It helps with the buyer's guilt.

My “I am hoarding all of these Lego sets for my future grandson” excuse finally came true!

  • Got busy and never updated but actually arrived at dealership the next day after posting that last assembly line photo.  Took possession 12/8/21 from a 7/13/20 reservation... Got about 400 miles

It was totality or bust for us…fought traffic both ways to get out to Mount Vernon, IL. The moment that it's safe to remove eclipse glasses, you could actually hear the crowd gasp in amazement (and then the crickets and frogs took over). A truly breathtaking and awe inspiring event, and luckily my second time experiencing it (other was in my backyard in 2017). Didn't bother with photos, as there are folks much more talented than I am in that department. Certainly an experience that makes you ponder your place in the universe (I love the description of feeling "paper thin and whole at the same time", which perfectly encapsulates it!)

In 2017, we let the kids skip school so we could drive a couple of hours for slightly deeper darkness. I remember it was dark and eerily quiet.

We did not do anything special yesterday.  The kids just viewed 85% at school with their friends :P

Here's a collage I just did.  My photoshop skills are a bit rusty.  The corona is actually more pronounced in my picture than I remember.  I over exposed a bit as the bright red prominence that I so remember seeing projecting out from the bottom of the sun (looked like a little campfire) is unfortunately washed out.

Oof. I'm just glad OJ can finally rest knowing that his wife's killer has died

I am with you on buying stock of the LEGO Company if that were a possibility. At the same time, I am comforted by the fact they continue to be a privately held company without fear of corporate investors sapping the lifeblood right out.

Both of those sets are so good as builds and parts packs. So many palm fronds from the wreath and then, well, poinsettia's everything honestly.

Are these type of faces new for lego? I like them, they dont look creepy like the built brick ones

I grew up on this version of the game playing for don't know how long at a time. I remember fondly being captivated by the cover art and how much that spacecraft design influenced me.
