Wanted to drop in any finally say hi. Joined a few months ago and still working on my profile. Its nice to be part of a community whi shares common interest in the world of legos. Been a lego builder since 8 years old and still building and collecting till today!

Thanks for the welcomes. Located here in southern california. Been collecting for a while but went off to college and had my entire set thrown out. Started again back since 2006. All themes are great but like many others here, im a fan of modulars. Spent a nice amount to get the entire set ( including green grocer and corner cafe). When i get a chance, ill update some pixs.

Good stuff. I think its funny - almost everyone here loves the modulars.

They might be my LEAST wanted sets in terms of building. I don't break out a ton. My personal collections is about:

150 Star Wars sets

Tower Bridge

All the LOTR and Hobbit sets

5 Technic sets (increasing this by a lot soon - fell in love with the technic line)

Probably a Sopwith Camel soon

A few Harry Potter sets and all the Disney sets for my wife.

I may eventually grab a few other themes, but the modulars just don't really appeal to me. I would take an SSD over any modular any day.

But hey - I am weird, right?

My personal collection consists of LOTR and Hobbit (of which I will have all soon), a Grand Emporium, and Harry Potter and a few Disney sets (still to come) for my wife as well.  I've been resisting on getting some Technic sets, but I think I will eventually cave, as I think the line is pretty awesome.  As far as Star Wars, there's just too much out there for me to even consider collecting it, as I like things to be complete and with SW that's just not realistic for someone who just started collecting a little over a year ago.  So your taste (and your wife's) is not weird at all to me, except for your dislike of Modulars... =)
