here is a compliant about some bricklink sellers.

when buying something, why do some sellers expect buyers to login to paypal and  fill-out the "send payment" info?  why don't they do it themselves?

seriously... i just gave you some biz and you're too lazy to send me a paypal invoice or payment request?

Is this really that hard? I know, know....fine, I'll start doing this. You made a difference today! :)

kidding, right?  the principle.  it's the seller who initiates payment. not the buyer.  try walking into a store and paying for something without being checked out at the register.

when selling, i always invoice the buyer.

That is assuming that the Bricklink buyer uses the same email address as his/her paypal account. How do you know for sure who to send the paypal invoice too?

I just send an invoice through bl with my email telling them to end payment to that address via PayPal and have never had an issue.

Not on Brickowl or eBay, but I understand your point. ;)

I don't remember ever getting a paypal invoice for any of my 100+ purchases on Bricklink, but it's not like it's hard either way. Takes about ten more seconds to copy and paste the e-mail address, put in the amount, the order number and hit send, as opposed to all that information being pre-loaded for you.

better yet, i don't understand why all sellers (on bricklink) don't just include the paypal paying link in the bricklink invoice.

Get it out, get it all out...

I'll read those instructions on how to do that now.

Edit: which are here, for anyone interested.

It''s getting really really really hard to ship through ebay. 3 out of 4 times it says "system unavailable". This has been going on since November and they are clearly not fixing it.

Waited till last second to buy 2 tires for my car (bald) . Stopped at a Goodyear and was charged 380 for 2 tires?! Granted I drive a Chevy Malibu and not a BMW. Crying right now. They gave me the same bs that they only have the 150$ tires in stock coincidentally. Snow storm tomorrow so I needed them but ouch!!

I was driving with my friend a couple hours away from home and was minding my own business. I started hearing a rattle and pulled over because something seemed off. Found this huge nail sticking out of my tire. No idea why it was in the road as there was no construction. I called AAA for help as neither my friend nor I had ever changed a tire (I bet we could figure it out but it was getting late and dark). The guy laughed when he saw the size of the nail (and informed me my emergency break doesn't actually work). He said I may be able to patch it up. But apparently Bubblegum would not work (I was so annoyed so a but of humor could work). Thankfully Firestone was able to fit me in as their last client and I got great deals on the tires. I also learned my tires were bald and that explained why I would hydroplane all the time driving to school in the rain. Firestone also changes snow tires for free if you have their tires so that was helpful for this upcoming storm. Which by the way may be terrible as I was contacted by the Red Cross saying we are on Alert for possible starting shelters and stuff (I am a volunteer).

It seems you may have experienced what some parents do when it gets close to Christmas time and they need a certain gift for their kid.

They pay a premium.

I find myself using the "back in my day" style line so frequently lately that I've stopped giving myself a Gibbs headslap each time I utter it.

Before my stepdad (who I absolutly despise) ever let me sit behind the wheel of an automobile he made me jack a car up and change all four tires. He also made sure I could handle basic maintenance (filters, oil, belts and such). One of the few bright spots in an otherwise dreadful relationship. Some things you simply NEED to know before venturing out on the roads.

Yes but the difference is that Christmas has a set date. A snowstorm can happen at any time. I get what you are saying- still not the same.

When snowstorms happen around me the whole state shuts down for a week.

Yes Firestone would have been about 169 cheaper had I actually gone there. I found out after they started working on my car at Goodyear. Oh well.

I wish that could happen where I live. If we get a snowstorm, everything is fine. The only time when school is closed or something like that, is when there is a severe blizzard.

I went to college just north of Atlanta and one of my professors was Canadian, everyone told her that whenever there was any sign of snow the school would close. One day there were a few flurries with maybe six total snowflakes between them. Guess who was the only person to not show up. To this day I don't think she's lived that one down.

We just drive 4-wheelers to work.

Where we are, if we ever get enough snow to shut down the city, they allow snow mobiles on the streets for emergencies. Happened in 84 and 97.

My complaint echos MartinP... This doesn't happen nearly often enough and for not nearly long enough.

The amount of snow required to shut down the city that I live is about 7 feet or 84 inches. And all that snow would have to fall in a couples days. Even then, we would probably only get two days off of school.
