I think this is the one I’m going to get. I wasn’t sold on the original, everyone else was getting Delta so I decided not to, this one seems interesting though. What can I say, a late adopter over here.

No deaths reported from this variant. Shut everything down!!

This is the Dr that discovered the variant.  She states that it is very mild.  But US politicians totally ignore her because it doesn't fit with their narrative of total control.

In one recent case, a 70-year-old man in Atlanta paid recovering drug addicts to steal razors and health products from stores like Target, CVS and Publix and take them to his warehouse, according to court documents.

The man, Robert Whitley, then sold the items online through businesses called Closeout Express and Essential Daily Discounts. He sold more than 140,000 items on Amazon’s marketplace, totaling $3.5 million, according to federal prosecutors.

It has low barrier to entry.  Just have a bunch of people willing to steal $949 worth of stuffs from stores in San Francisco.  With any luck, that city will deal with this problem by upping the threshold for police involvement from $950 to $1450.

Couple more:

The key here is that flash mob theft is organized, making it Federal, so it really doesn't matter what the threshold is for local law enforcement as nearly all involve using some version of an online Marketplace to move stolen goods, so that means selling stolen product across interstate lines.

"Allegedly" organized. ;)  Agree with you, but depending on several factors it may take a considerable amount of time to proof.

This would make a good storyline for The Wire remake / revival. :P  Hear that HBO ?

on the whole...all the variants of CV has mild symptoms for most.  unfortunately being highly contagious means the more subsceptible within the population will likely get exposure and be that outlier...so far the outlier deaths are in the 100ks.  it's debatable (for some) if that number is unacceptable or not.

I'm hearing more people say getting this booster is it, no more.

meaning they don;t intend to get any more vaccines ...period?  I mean a new flu vaccine comes out every year....

No more Covid specific vaccines. I guess they figure they don't get a polio vaccine every year, so.

Yeah, you only get four doses of that as a child... 🥴

I don't understand people's inability to weigh the options here. I'll get as many shots as it takes. I was sore and achy for like 30 hours after my Pfizer booster (had J&J in the spring), but whatever, I'm not on a ventilator or sick for an entire week like my unvaccinated brother.

Conservatives seem to want to have their cake and eat it too. Whine about literally every effect of the pandemic from inflation to shipping delays but also won't accept that the only way out of this is vaccination. Seems very 'cake or death' to me. Maybe I don't spend enough time on conspiracy forums.

One of my more liberal friends said it this morning. I'm thinking he'd bank on his natural health, since he's in good shape.  He posted it on FB after getting his third jab.

potential game changer, Omicron  seems to hospitalize 5 years old and under and 60+ :

"The incidents in those under 5 is now second highest and second only to the incidents in those over 60," said Dr. Waasila Jassat with the South Africa Institute of Communicative Disease. "The trend that we're seeing now that's different to what we saw before is the particular increase in hospital admissions in children under 5 years."

This IS Lego related... just needed to vent for a moment.  Lego set showing in stock at Kohls and Rakuten showing 10% cashback plus $10 kohls cash for every $50.  Load up my cart with 4 of the sets purchase $150 gc from coupon cabin getting cashback there too.  During checkout Kohls even adds in a $10 Kohls cash I have no clue where it came from... score!  Get all the way to place order screen, click place order and screen refreshes to a blank kohls screen.  Nothing in my order history and the set shows oos for store pickup and shipping.  I mean WTH?  Now I'm sitting on $150 Kohls gc and everything else looks overpriced.  🤬

Sorry, I clicked the Checkout button a split second faster than you.

Got excited when I saw Gingerbread Houses at my local Target.  Then I saw the shelf price: $127.99.  What?!

I thought, that I can't be true.  So I checked it on the in-store price checker and I was right, but not in a good way - $164.99.  My local Target is evil.

So I went online and found it for regular price and ordered two for local pick up.  Suck it Target.

Price match them to their online prices.

Yeah, it's really dead easy, even at the self checkout. I bought a wreath thinking they were $35 and it rang up at $68!! The cashier was helping me with a price match on another toy and made sure I'd checked the other things I had and sure enough the wreath was $35 online. I imagine the insane markup was mostly just to stop people from buying them so they would be available on the day they were advertised.
