I left my job a few weeks ago in telecom due to an acquisition. My small company got acquired by a much larger company that's getting into telecom. It was truly awful. Essentially, the job became unbearable. Most everyone hated working after the acquisition and wanted to either leave or move over to our sister company.

Well, on my first day at my new job  three weeks ago, I find out that my group at the new company has been acquired by another company (go figure). We got the new benefit information today. Looks like the two big things are that the health insurance will be worse and no more unlimited PTO. I guess 16 days isn't terrible though and at least I know how many days I can take (and I can role over days). They also have extra holidays for Chris's time so that's nice. I'm disappointed though as I expected the benefits to be better than what they actually are.

Also, make sure to take PTO. Ive only taken one day this entire year (because I was interviewing and wouldn't be able to work effectively), and I need a break. Would not recommend.

Sorry poor wording there, I meant a duplicate gift / purchase.

sorry to hear of your troubles...I've had a couple of bogus brick in-person transactions, but nothing to scale of a Chiron (assuming you paid close to market)...the authentic manual and box are extra diabolical, but at least those can be sold.

Is PTO Paid Time Off? I was surprised to find how little annual leave / holidays people get in US. In UK the minimum for most companies is about 28 days off (usually 33 in total if including public holidays). I can't imagine only having 1 or 2 holidays a year. Working from home has made me realise that I should probably think about working a 4 day week to enjoy life more aswell.

Yes, it's paid time off. It varies in the US. Some companies give 3 or 4 weeks. Some give 2 and some give "unlimited".

That being said, I had more than 1 days available, but I just didn't take them. It was a poor decision lol.

This happened with me over 10 years ago. Job was secure, but my responsibilities were going to be so greatly diminished (Was going to go from having the controller duties of a CPA firm, to being on a team doing collections). So many co-workers were stabbing each other in the back (just trying to survive), desperately trying to get a seat in the lifeboat (before the ship went down) - It was so painful to witness.

This is when I quit, to become a full time LEGO man.

Best decision ever.

I tend to be the one who saw the infighting in a leaking ship and jumped out before ship was sinking.

BUT in hindsight, I should have been the guy selling duct tape to patch the leaking ship and keep it afloat for as long as possible and charged tons of money for it.

I stuck it out. Had a difficult lead running my department for 7 years. He left and his replacement actually acknowledges and rewards the work that I do. I just wish I didn’t have to do so much of it.

Interesting, could be a good thing for investors as a completionist would need 1 of each color. Could provide a post EOL bump otherwise not realized.  I could see them doing this more in the future.  I mean, the only thing keeping me from getting the 911 is white...

Not sure why they did not do it earlier.  It is an easy way to create additional profit from the initial R&D costs.

Or maybe they just realize creativity is overrated and that most of the adults just want the same model with different colors. :P

would be nicer (more affordable) to have a special side set with only the color variation pieces...or a tuner side set w/ different wheels, spoiler, etc

so much can be done for the Mustang and Porsche

Actually, I floated similar idea (parts for color variations) in 1 of the Technic supercar threads a few years ago (might be the orange Porsche?).

But now I see that idea would mean less money for LEGO.  Also, it may confuse some of the customers: "hold on, what do you mean I have to own that $300 set to use this $60 box of parts ?".

Might as well give the customers choice of colors.  There is a good chance they buy both (at the same time or separately) 🤑

I’ve cleared that up with CS via chat or a quick phone call.

If we can form chemistry and the team has confidence, it will be an easy path to gold.  If they cant pass and move without the ball and frustration takes over, an early exit it will be.

Id say the confidence is there, especially as guys tend to find and be comfortable with their role as games go on.

“I feel like everybody is making second and third efforts on the defensive side of the ball.", Durant said.

Also this, the defense has vastly improved.

one more game...
