Fear yes, but FOMO no. And you know where that fear comes from, 2 places, knowing someone who has died or become severely ill from covid and the media. 

I think there's a lot of fear mongering going on trying to make people afraid. When I go out and do stuff (I have mostly been going about my life as it was pre-covid for months now), I don't think about the delta variant of COVID. If I get it, I get it, but no sense in worrying about it and upending my life over it. Everyone can do whatever they feel is best for them, but I'm going to keep living my life. I refuse to live in fear over something that may or may not happen.

Does it matter if I think the vehicles in this set are some great value?  Those are 3 nice vehicles.

love the set. love it so much i have 1000 of them. walmarts never ending supply is the issue.

That helicopter is the exact same copter as the 66 Batcave copter, just recolored.

Going to keep complaining here. Seinfeld ordered 7/20 (last Tuesday) at midnight; still no movement. Got a generic email. Also to note their year+ long crisis message that's been up forever... "very high volumes of orders."

I've noticed when you receive this message, they are usually shipped within 24 hours.

Thanks that's good to know. Managed to get a chat going and they said more than once "we've had a high volume of orders" with no more explanation. Okay LEGO... I'm like a beaten dog who keeps coming back to the owner... finger on the trigger for the gunship. Every time I tell myself maybe I should vote no with my wallet for once.

I’d like to complain about my a**hole of a boss. He just became my boss in January.

The good news is I start a new job in less than two weeks.

The complaint is the living hell he is making my life right now. My anxiety hasn’t been this high in years.

I know the light is at the end of the tunnel, but if there is a petty little thing he can do to make my life hell, he’s doing it.

Basically, made a doctor's appointment for this morning.  Told him I was going.  He said no.  I said I'm going.  I went to said appointment.  Got a note from my doctor that excuses me through the end of this week (basically to my last day).

He wrote back that he's going to mark me Unexcused Absence (e.g., I won't get paid), and that he's going to consult HR about further disciplinary actions.

My union said, "oh, no he's not"

There's four of us in my office, and one of my coworkers just told me he got written up today, too.  So somehow, 50% of the people in the office only act in bad behavior.  Hmm...

Finally got around to opening and starting to build the 42083 Chiron I've had for a couple of years now. Bought it as an opened but unbuilt duplicate on FBM. Started to smell a rat very quickly, and sure enough the set is bogus bricks, but put inside the legit box (plus inner boxes) with the real Lego instruction manuals (so as to allay any initial concerns before buying). The clutch of the bricks is not good, and the sticker sheet looks crap ('Bugati', for example). Absolutely furious. Can't imagine I'll be able to do anything about this given that it's so long since I bought it. Paid in cash of course.

Sorry poor wording there, I meant a duplicate gift / purchase.

I left my job a few weeks ago in telecom due to an acquisition. My small company got acquired by a much larger company that's getting into telecom. It was truly awful. Essentially, the job became unbearable. Most everyone hated working after the acquisition and wanted to either leave or move over to our sister company.

 

Well, on my first day at my new job  three weeks ago, I find out that my group at the new company has been acquired by another company (go figure). We got the new benefit information today. Looks like the two big things are that the health insurance will be worse and no more unlimited PTO. I guess 16 days isn't terrible though and at least I know how many days I can take (and I can role over days). They also have extra holidays for Chris's time so that's nice. I'm disappointed though as I expected the benefits to be better than what they actually are. 

 

Also, make sure to take PTO. Ive only taken one day this entire year (because I was interviewing and wouldn't be able to work effectively), and I need a break. Would not recommend.
