That's the risk of the game...  if you would have won $300 you could have bought two Pet Shops for free.

Sigh... I know. It was a rough game. I had my money in good with a couple hands and just couldn't catch a break. Oh well, I've done well there in the past.

Dropping $300 at a "friendly" poker game. Then running through my head all the lego set(s) I could've bought with that money. :'(

This was me at the casino a few nights ago.

Missing Thursday poker night. My poker buddies, including myself, have all gotten married and had kids over the past few years. It's tough getting the whole gang together to play. We play only once or twice a year now. :(

Over the weekend, I had guests in town who only go to the casino when out of town so we played blackjack last night. I won some Lego ;)

Ex astris, scientia.

Right there with ya. This was my 2nd game in 7 months, which is part of my problem, I'm out of practice.

So, I was expecting a signature required LEGO shipment this past Saturday - I waited, but the mail never came that day.

It turns out that the USPS truck had pretty much exploded, bursting into flames - Tragically, 20 Hulk poly bags did not survive.

I'm complaining that your post didn't have a picture attached. ;)

I wonder what else didn't survive.

omfg I hope the driver wasn't hurt. I wasn't aware hulk polybags were such a hot seller. No but seriously I hope they were ok.

The driver is ok, although it sounds like he was shaken up a bit. Once it started, it spread quickly and he jumped out. Somehow the fire then caused the brakes to fail, so it started rolling down a hill towards someones home - fortunately, he was able to reach in and adjust the steering - so it went into a ditch.

I did see a couple photos (I will try to get them) - the damage seemed hard to believe.

As it appears no one was hurt...

Someone should have know better than to make 20 hulks angry.

So no real surprise here - but the seller hasn't responded at all to my messages regarding the destroyed shipment.

I assume that they didn't insure the package.

No, I'm not surprised at all.  You can always file a case, since you didn't receive anything.

Yes, I already have opened a request, which will then become a case, which will then eventually time out.

I do feel for the seller though. I know as a seller that I wouldn't be quick to believe it either (yea, the truck blew up).

At least in this case, it was a major incident that the USPS can confirm. So while it still sucks for the seller, at least they'll know that it was true and that they weren't scammed.

If they are persistent enough, they should at least be able to get $50 back.

I was promised photos of the burning truck. Where are my photos?

Sorry about the lost package though. That sucks.

Not forgotten - My delivery guy mentioned he would try to print some out for me (we will see).

I would have liked to have 20 more Hulk Poly's

Yes, a tip for newbies - Using 1st class/signature does not make a lot of sense.

Not that much of a newbie, but I've never shipped 1st class/signature, either. Why is that problematic?
