Just want to say that I think this is a great website and that there is a lot of great information here.  There seem to be many people whose opinions I respect and value.  That being said, a bit of history on me... my first sets when I was a kid growing up were 483 (Alpha 1 Rocket Base), 575 (Coast Guard Station) & 585 (Police Headquarters). I still have the pieces and boxes.  :o)

After I got my first "real" job out of college, the first thing I bought was Lego set 6274 (Caribbean Clipper) and a Chicago Cubs jersey.  The pirate ship was supposed to go in my fish tank, but didn't have the heart to put it in.  Been collecting off & on ever since.

As with everybody else on this website, I'm always on the lookout for the next great investment. Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, every Lego set is a great investment from a personal standpoint (maybe not financial standpoint).  Previously, I only bought the sets that I really liked, but after seeing the potential for future income, I've expanded my horizons and am now willing to purchase those sets which I may not have a personal attachment to, but that may have good growth potential.  Worse case scenario, I get "stuck" with a Lego set that will never be worth more than what I paid for... and I'm ok with that.

Thanks!

Welcome. I lived in CA for many years, but never made it out that way. Usually stuck to the coastline/US101. Enjoy the site!
