From the archive of 1980s animated features is one drawn by a Canadian studio whose credits include the original Heavy Metal film running about 23 minutes long with a soundtrack by Rush. Some parts seem familiar but I honestly can't remember watching the complete thing long ago. In any case it was a quirky strange venture back down childhood boulevard.

Here is another of what I believe to be one of those art student films I come across. It is a brief but emotional look at the eternal lament of the cursed lamia from Greek mythology, Medusa. A former priestess to Athena, her origins differ between being wooed by Poseidon forgetting her vows to the order then running off with him to get married or her and Poseidon having sex in Athena's temple or even another with Poseidon raping her in Athena's temple (which doesn't sound right going by the mythos). The rest of the story stays the same where afterwards out of rage Athena curses Medusa by making her so hideous that anyone looking upon her face is cast into stone. I wonder if the effect would work on someone who could see her true beauty beneath that forced facade.

Reflection

Ok my fiancee watched 50 shades yesterday and said it was good (but she read the book)

Today we finally watched the watchman and it was a very interesting movie, worth watching.

Fantastic clip! It`s a bit late to the party given that the set is on the way out, but still, it`s a well done video.

They did a good job recreating the scene. I wonder how long it takes them just to do a 5 min clip?

My guess, anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred hours, it takes quite a bit of time to do clips like this, even for someone skilled, it`s tedious. Just makes it more impressive IMHO.

Big bang has a lego reference in it tonight. Nice to see they're preparing for the set. Pretty smart.

Also a pricing error!!!

Anyone see the new documentary on Netflix called inside lego?

Just watched Whiplash. It is terrific. Best movie of 2014 I've seen so far but have a few more I need to see. JK Simmons is scary good.
