Akin to the "Musical Picks" topic, I want to hear what your all time favourite movies/television shows are. It can be anything from action to drama to sports to romance (who watches that anyway though?). Don't be shy and don't be mean to other members, even if they really did enjoy Superbaby-Geniuses or whatever that piece of crap was called xD

I'll start off with a couple of my favs; I find most of the ones I put down are great films all together, but have shining endings.

Blood Diamond (Thriller/Drama): Leo DiCaprio picks up a sick south african accent in this eye-opening thriller/drama. Great music but if you're a Leo fan, you can probably already guess how it ends lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtPX2kXhu7I

Friday Night Lights (Sports): I'm not a football guy, but the cinematography and story made this a refreshing change to the typical, predictable, sports movie. Plus, the instrumental music by Explosions in the Sky fits perfect (note: the trailer is crap, watch the film).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzyp4qOW0F0

The Lord of The Rings Trilogy (Fantasy): If you are on a Lego forum where Lego LOTR products are frequently discussed, you probably already know how awesome the films are. If you don't, I'll leave it up to the mods to immediately revoke your membership to BrickPicker (jk).

And last I'll just end with my favourite TV show, which is probably going into its final season this year, The Mentalist (crime procedeural): this murder-a-episode series focuses on a former psychic who is now tracking the serial killer who murdered his family. The show can be light and funny, but when the serial killer ("red john") gets involved, it can get pretty unnerving. The series has spent 5 years tracking down murderers so feels a bit tired, but it is still my favourite. And, I'll post a trailer for the 3rd season finally:

Phew, if you got through all that... you don't get bored easily, do you? Now tell me your picks!

I really enjoyed the new "The Suicide Squad". I'm curious to hear your thoughts? That was a fun, silly, fun film.

I agree. I thought it was stupid fun and that made it great. John Cena was great, so was Stallone as the voice of the shark. Suicide Squad is basically keeping DC alive at this point. I’d like to continue to see it evolve and the roster of villains is pretty deep so I’m sure a lot of cameos are possible.

Wife and I forced ourselves to watch suicide squad last night. As mentioned by others, it's stupid, gory, dumb and fun. It's just entertainment. No reason to read more into it. I enjoyed it. I thought it was the best dceu movie so far. I know, that isn't saying much...

I watched the Snake Eyes Origin movie this evening. I thought it was pretty good, but I don't know a lot of Joe backstory/cannon and was just watching it for pure entertainment purposes.

Spider-man: No way home.  Rumored to be full trailer has leaked.  *Disclaimer horrible quality.

Better quality this time!

Not much shown for the first season that was developed under Netflix (the other 3 seasons were created when they were with Youtube).  Please still be good:

My 9 year old and I have watched it a few times now.  Just fun.  Yes, gore.  Yes, blood.  Yes a ton of cuss words.  But they all chew it up, play into what it is, and it's just a good time.  I really enjoyed the variety of characters.  King Shark was definitely a favorite.

I hope James Gunn stays on to do a few more of these.

Watched the first season of True Detective for the second time.

I don't use this term lightly when I call it a masterpiece. Amazing story with superb acting to bring it all together. 10/10.

just binged Click Bait on Netflix

pretty good...just picked it cuz it was top 3 on Netflix

other than the annoying wannabe Kill Bill Uma hair style...a modern day thriller w/ current issues borrowing some tried and true plot lines.

I added this to my list...definitely will check it out. This same method is how I chose Lupin...one episode in and I was hooked. Great heist show. The somewhat regular focus on Lupin's Nike Air Jordan Ones is a bit over the top, but they are cool shoes, lol. Wonder how much Nike paid for that.

I also enjoyed Lupin, I wasn't so sure about the english dub at first and sometimes it's clunky, I found it fun to occasionally switch to the original dialogue to hear the original actors. Funny you mention the shoes... I have no memory of that (not a Jordans guy so they just read as sneakers to me)

the role social media is playing in the Gabby Petito case is eerily similar to Clickbait.

I thought of the movie "The Circle".  Not necessarily a great movie, but the premise of people using social media to track someone down is similar.  If people start going live while tracking the guy via twitch or youtube, then we're there.

I dunno about Chris Pratt as Mario. I mean, anyone can do a Mario voice, so maybe it'll be fine but if it's not the stereotypical Italian spicy meatball voice then it's not actually Mario and Chris Pratt sounds like... Chris Pratt - Emmet from the Lego Movie, literally the most regular lego guy.

This is correct:

Danny Devito? Oh please, my first choice would have been Al Pacino. If he were Mario, Bowser would not have a second chance to mess with Peach.  :vinsent:

Imagine Mario saying "Say hello to my little friends" and then hundreds of Toads & Toadettes come up and just overwhelm Bowser :D:D

What could possibly go wrong with a Super Mario film?

I'm really wondering if Bowser will do one Jack's spins:

Jack Black Monday Morning Dance GIF - Jack Black Dance Spin - Discover & Share GIFs

• Chris Pratt as Mario
• Anna Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach
• Charlie Day as Luigi
• Jack Black as Bowser
• Keegan-Michael Key as Toad
• Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong
• Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong
• Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek
• Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike
• Charles Martinet with surprise cameos

Charlie as Luigi that is all.
