It's a common tree spider and they can get pretty big. My dad has a few acres of land and at night they spin their webs from all the trees on the property. You can see their beady little eyes twinkle when you shine a light on them. Imagine doing that and a bunch of little eyes reflect back at you. Scary.

Isnt that the spider that Captured Frodo and Spun him into her web in Lord of the Rings. LOL You need the little Sword that lights up to fight this spider. LOL

Quite right, that is Shelob! Lol. Check out this picture. It is a mosquito hawk (crane fly) with mites hitchhiking on it! I didnt take this picture but I saw this in nature the other day, which spurred me to look into this. Apparently the mites dont hurt the fly, they just ride on it until the fly brings them to a more favorable eating destination.
