If there is one thing I have learned, it's that music truly is the most universal language in the world. Besides myself looking for yet another excuse to post anything at all or just a good one to post music videos, I would like everyone here to feel free to post links to some of your favorite tunes and/or talk about what you like to listen to. Consider this thread your very own little "House of Blues" as it were.

Anyway as for an opening post, I had some difficulty trying to think of a good opener, a nice ice breaker everyone may enjoy, and well I came up with this. Enjoy.

Disclaimer:
Everyone has their own likes & dislikes which includes their listening preferences so please no badmouthing or cruel banter because somebody enjoys a certain type of music or band you may not. There is plenty of song to go around, be nice.

Nice, this is what I listen to when I feel like something different...

Of course, a band could do a new cover of their own music.  One of my fav's

Sorry, but not that song.  I know a lot of people love that song.  However, I do not need anyone to tell me what I already know about myself :D

I'm lovin' the topic ever since the cover conversation got rolling! So here's a random recentish release because I just felt like hearing a little Journey.

And another. Retrowave forever!

Ah, hmmmm.  I was under the impression we were talking about covers by legitimate bands?  Beatles, G&N, U2, Motley Crue to Retrowave & Serchen???  If you're going there then I gotta go here:

We were. I just have a bad habit of flying right off the track. Haha. Sorry about that. I guess things would eventually go in that direction but I could have at least waited a bit. Then again I would not have seen that MattyBRaps clip. That was adorable.

Alrighty then. I found a couple covers by more legitimate bands between Asking Alexandria....

And a live performance by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.

This last one is, sorry, I can't help myself.

I have so many covers in my playlist and half what I posted on this thread were covers :P

I try to post something that most people are familiar with since half the fun is knowing how different (or similar) the cover is to the original

I love that tune (and Jennifer Connelly). I must confess I was part of the crowd that discovered Flock of Seagulls through "I Ran So Far Away". Or rather finally associated the band with the track. So much music I listened to as a kid especially when on the radio that later in life looking back trying to remember ....and I drew a blank. Have any idea how long it took before I finally realized "Symphony of Destruction" was Megadeth? An embarrassing length of time. Haha.

Moving right along with a couple more covers and seeing how Flock of Seagulls was brought up....

One of the best covers of all time...

How about the original singer and the singers who covered his song got together and did a new version of their famous song?

one of my favorite genre bending covers
