Does anyone make models from something other than Lego?

Featured Replies

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, depending on where on this planet you find yourself. I am curious about what other models Brickpickers build and whether you would recommend certain types or manufacturers. I am on the verge of purchasing a wooden model ship to build and hope that maybe someone else here has a little experience with these.

I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.

Not a model, but here's a 17 foot sea kayak I built about 15 years ago. Gonna start on a canoe soon.

Have been considering trying some model sail boat as well. Several of the Cutty Sark looked appealing.

Nice work! Took a few hours to complete I bet!

Looking at deAgostini models, they look impressive. There are a couple of the smaller ones that appeal to me, mostly to do with display space as they're 20 something inches long/high, but also the detail levels as I've never built anything like this before.
