Hello from South Africa.  My son who is 10 years old has a special love for lego.  I would like to buy and sell lego, but also use this as a serious investment strategy.  Anyone having knowledge of importing /exporting from the USA to South Africa, please contact me.  Lego Prices from abroad are quite affordable until importation duties are applied with tax, then it Is no longer a viable option.

Furthermore, I would like to become a distributor of lego (of sorts).  My plan is to tap into the market, get orders and bring in the sets without holding inventory, not sure this is feasible, again appreciate all comments and experience.

finally, since my son is such a huge fan of lego, my investment strategy Is to fund his demands as well as use this as a business opportunity.

regards

Jenny

Good luck to you, just be sure not to introduce your son as a 'prince' if you try to set up any deals. ;)

Welcome! Not holding inventory will be impossible, I think. Even if you plan to just flip items quickly after you get them --- you may find a set lose value quickly after you placed your order (like, say, you ordered a rare polybag -- at the time -- and all of a sudden, the market got flooded by a mass release of this previously rare polybag at a major store). For serious investment, you definitely need to plan to hold inventory.

I've only sold once to South Africa, so do not have much experience exporting to there.
