I am a newbie to this site, so please bear with me. We had our storage unit broken into, and the mixed pieces to all 37 Lego and Technic sets we had were stolen. They were not in their original boxes, unfortunately; all the pieces were in large plastic containers, although we have instructions to all the sets. I need an estimate of their worth for the insurance claim. Can you please tell me how to figure that  out, or direct me to a place where I can?

Enter the set #'s into the Lego Lot Calculator up in the Price Guide tab and enter them as "used" when it populates it.  That should give you a ballpark value for your used sets assuming they are complete.  You could always check sold auctions on ebay as well to determine a value, but the former would be faster.  Sorry to hear about the break in, probably the biggest fear for many here that have units.  Best of luck with the insurance claim.

Sorry to hear about the break in and the stolen Lego. You should do as Huskers1236 said. The Lego lot calculator should give you a good estimate on what the Lego is worth. Good luck with the insurance claim.

Thanks everyone for your sympathies. I used the lot calculator, and was able to come up with some values for he insurance co. Wish me luck!

It's cool that you were able to get insurance on an off-site storage unit, none of the vampyres I talked to showed any interest in such a thing, well, not at a reasonable rate & not without a "professional appraisal".
