Hello all,

This year I got back into LEGO. For quite some time I had my eyes on the modular buildings. My main intention is to collect these and also to create modular MOCs.

After purchasing several minifigures from different CMF series I started aquiring some modulars. My first big purchase was the Town Hall set 10224. The price was quite steep at around 330€ as prices can rise easily above RRP after EOL. That's why I'm now trying to avoid missing out on sets, especially exclusives, that I might want to build or use in the future. In the end I guess it's better to end up with some spare sets I can resell in case I don't need them.

    ​Thanks for the heads-up. After getting Town Hall I gave top priority to PS due to its long production run. So I already aquired four of those and already opened two boxes. Currently I'm on the lookout for deals for Palace Cinema and a decently priced Grand Emporium. The purchase of newer modulars (PR, DO) feels less urgent to me.

    ​If you're looking for a GE, any buy under $250 is a great deal now; most prices are hovering around $300.  Don't neglect PR; it's easy to get from Amazon and other retailers at MSRP, and if you're looking to build an inventory, a few early buys makes good strategy.  Later, when it gets close to EOL, you'll be in a PR/PC situation where finding MSRP sets to purchase gets harder and harder.

    Welcome BB. I'm new too, but just a couple weeks here reading advice like this ^^ has made me feel much more confident jumping into the investment game. Similarly trying to fund personal purchases for modding helms deep, and a modular street! Best of luck out there!
