Good morning Brickpickers!

I have been gone from LEGO for far too long! I grew up on the Space Coast of Florida and naturally I am a huge space nerd. I was a huge fan of LEGO in the 80s and had just about every space set there was. Naturally, when we took our son to see the LEGO movie, Benny was instantly my favorite character!

My son gravitated to LEGO immediately with his first DUPLO sets he got for Christmas in 2012, and then he found Star Wars. He hasn't slowed down since!

We have something we both enjoy and can do together. I am super excited to be getting back into this hobby. LEGO is responsible for my love of building and fixing things and played a huge role in my development with creative and technical thinking. I am also sure somehow that experience as a kid gave me the confidence to leave the corporate world 5 years ago and go back to working with my hands. (I'm a solar field technician)

I'm excited to get building with you all!

Thanks Stevenplays! I've already enjoyed lurking quite a bit and I see this is a friendly community that is passionate about LEGO so I decided to join in the discussion. :)

Welcome to Brickpicker!! Do you still have some of the spaces sets that you had in the 80's? I have a few of those, and they are really cool to display and play with.

I wish MartinP! I donated them to the thrift store when I was got out of lego and into girls.

Welcome fellow warthog lover!

(Inside joke from another thread)

Thanks SS!!

Would love to see an expert A-10 model to commemorate the retirement of the fleet. TLG has a few years to make it happen!

If challenge gets completed, put some instructions online, I'm sure you'd make a few bucks if it's a good build.

RESPECT!! I like the Blackbird too!

Solar Field Technician. Now there's a job I would leave my boring yet stable and lucrative IT function for. Welcome to the site and enjoy the builds

Welcome to the site.  The space sets are cool.  There was a series for Discovery kids lego sets with a NASA theme a while back.  Have you checked those sets out?

Thanks Neo.

It's not as glamorous as it seems, but it beats a cube every time. Actually it is a lot of IT dealing with the monitoring systems and communications.

Pretty cool nonetheless, amazing tech.

Oh yes. They break all the time and they put them up everyday.

Job security for sure.
