Just 2 weeks ago, I stumbled on a pretty deal on a 10221 Super Star Destroyer set and immediately bought it. Guess it was the start of my journey from the wilderness from which I was lost to for the past 25 years! Damn corporate rat race!
When I was a kid in the 80s (yes yes, I am that old), I would wait eagerly for my Dad to return home from his overseas trips as he would buy me lego sets to play with. Well, as time went by, I lost touch with Lego. I have always walked past the Lego stores and ohh and ahh at the huge Star Wars sets on display but I didn't have the financial means to get any.
Fast forward to 2014, now in my mid 30s, I am starting to have a bit of disposable income to enjoy myself and why not Lego! Since I bit the bullet 2 weeks ago on the 10221 SSD, I think I have rekindled my love for Lego & Star Wars and am now on my furious collecting spree! Wife & wallet are groaning in protest now.
After searching the Internet and forums, I have narrowed my potential collection to Star Wars (OT) and hopefully UCS sets, amongst other OT Star Wars sets... so currently to date, I have collected in 2 weeks:
10215: Obi-Wan Starfighter
10221: SSD
10227: B-Wing
10198: Rebel Blockade Runner
75059: Sandcrawler (Collecting this weekend)
Some Microfighters
Some smaller Star Wars sets
And my 1st buy, the SSD is still unopened... the nightmare of building and finding a place for a 1.24m long Lego set can be quite a challenge!
Finding older UCS sets is financially crippling!! And I can't wait for the new 75060 to come in!!
Oh the choices! The prices of the older UCS... Dilemma dilemma!
Thanks to everyone who reads this post and I hope to join in more discussions!
Cheerio!
PS: May I please know what is TBMF? I encounter this term quite often whilst looking at eBay etc... Thanks!
