...Chicago suburb anyway.

I'm an "ALE" but I used to be a "KLE"!  Since I had limited financial means as a kid I don't have any collections of older sets, just random sets from all sorts of themes.  I got back into Lego when I saw the Architecture series coming out.  I'm a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and I almost lost it when I saw that they were releasing a "Fallingwater" set.  I also have a burgeoning interest in architecture in general.

I found this site through Brickipedia when I was perusing it and making sure my Architecture collection was up to date.

Right now I have every Architecture series set minus the limited edition Asian release of "Marina Bay Sands" which I'm actually considering paying out the nose for on EBay.  Anyone have an opinion on that?  I'd like to have every Architecture set but some of those prices are ridiculous.

I'm also a fan of Star-Wars but don't need sets for playability, so I'm looking at the special collector series of the Star Destroyer, the Super Star Destroyer and the Rebel Blockade Runner.  Since I'm not really an investor I don't mind buying used.  Besides, used sets cost $600 or more; insane.

The 747 Dreamliner has also caught my eye.

But...I HAVE considered investing in some Architecture sets.

hello. since you're into architecture what buildings would you like to see made into sets?

As a Chicagoan I'd like to see the Field Museum made into a set, and possibly the OLD version of Soldier Field (without that new spaceship monstrosity on top of it).

Of course I'd like to see any building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

I'd also like to see Buckingham Fountain in LEGO form. The guy who originally came up with the Architecture series, Adam Reed Tucker, is from Chicago, which is why the first 2 sets were the Sears Tower and John Hancock buildings, so Soldier Field may not be entirely out of the question! :D

Welcome, and Go Sox!  I'm a Chicagoan, but mainly stick to the burbs for Lego shopping.  I use investing as an excuse for buying the things I want, but I do plan on selling several of the doubles I have purchased during this past year.  I have a 10 year old and 3 year old, so I plan to 'invest' plenty in the next few years.

Welcome to the addiction...
