What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?
joonhee replied to Huskers1236's topic in General Buying & Selling
Sold my one and only Lego Millenium Falcon 10179 still in shipping box for $4200. I paid $425 on Amazon. Woohoo -
Yes official policy is in stock but they didn't care. The customer service rep and mgr said no problem and did the return and re-purchase. I showed them Walmart.com with $399 and out of stock and they did it for me.

I bought 2 SSDs from Target two weeks ago for $499 each. I took them back to Target today to see if they would price match Walmart.com and they said yes. They allowed me to return both and then allowed me to repurchase for $399 each. Woohoo. Also Target at Tanforan San Bruno CA had two more 70404 Castles for $15.04 each, bought both.

Yes I know I'm not going to win but here is my emotional/illogical pick for Korea to win it all 1. Korea 2. Argentina 3. 3-2 in OT 4. Brazil vs Spain -
When the Millenium Falcon 10179 first came out I was like what da !@#$, $600????? That's crazy. Nevertheless I put it into my Amazon cart to see if it would go on sale and maybe I'll be stupid to buy it. After about a year after it's release I was reading and viewing other people opening and such on Youtube. I was like that's crazy spending 24-48hrs to build it. Then one day, Amazon had it on sale for $390 so finally bought it. I was so excited receiving it but I remembered it took 24-48hrs to build and I just had my first kid so I did the wise thing and put it away in the closest when I could find some alone weekend time to build it. 12 months later forgetting about it I noticed it was no longer for sale on Amazon but 3rd party people were selling it for $1000. Ebay was around $800-$900. I was like uhm I can't open it now since it appreciated plus I still don't have that much free time to build it. Two years later I looked it up and it was $2000. Now several years later and two kids and up to around $3500 I can never get myself to open it and instead I have to sell it. So excited when I first bought it and now so sad I'll never build it cause it's just worth too much money

feel free to have the last comments on this, cause this entire argument, justification, defense or whatever is again stupid. Won't bother responding anymore after this. Of course yes when a Lego is purchased for less at another retailer and then returned to Lego store for a higher value is wrong. My point is also using Barnes and Noble coupons for exclusives is wrong. Using old screenshots of Kmart out of stock products to get price match is wrong. Again I don't judge how people are getting their discounts and calling them immoral. But of course you get too since you are the almighty and so wise and I don't understand market value and etc etc. Yes I'm going to hell or wherever because the act of returning stuff to Lego stores is the only immoral activity of all the other activities that are going on here. Was never defending this buddy. Was just pointing out how only this activity is being judged morally wrong.
-
But buying out inventory on Dolphin Cruisers and selling to helpless Dad's before Xmas for $100 is not morally wrong? Using Barnes and Noble 30% off coupons on Star Wars Exclusives even though the coupon clearly says not eligible for these not morally wrong? Lego stores don't care if you bought at Walmart for 99 cents. They'll take it back no question as long as it is sealed and give you exchange for whatever amount they are selling it for. This is so stupid people judging things as morally wrong

I posted about this a month ago and I got crucified. While I see numerous posts about people asking for old screenshots on a product from Kmart that is out of stock and sold out and they try to show to TRU or Target and get a price match from salespeople who don't know any better. Lots of people bypass Lego rules by buying more than 2 41999 Crawlers and etc. I'm not here to judge others on how people get their discounts or quantities of products. I'm sure a lot of people on this site get their Lego's 100% legitimately from sales and clearance and etc. But I'm sure there a lot of people here are quote un quote "immoral" by some peoples Lego's standards. Who cares how people are getting Lego, bottom line we are here to make money. Outright stealing is obviously not right but if Lego stores allows for any return without a receipt, that's their issue, not our moral issue.

I bought the Lego 10240 XWing fighter Red Five from TRU for $199 and the free Palpatine Arrests set. However my 10240 XWing came crushed. TRU said they would give me a $40 discount which I accepted. 30 days later I check my statement, they only give me $30. I call customer service and they say, the original customer service requested $40 credit but only $30 was approved and therefore basically I'm SOL. TRU is horrible for customer service

Number of sealed bags in each LEGO set
joonhee replied to nolanfan34's topic in General Buying & Selling
Hi, I just bought an opened SSD 10221 on Amazon Warehouse. It was opened therefore I got a ok discount on it. Interior box #1 inside was opened. There was a total of 6 bags labeled 1 and 6 bags labeled 2 and 2 bags not labeled at all inside box #1. Does anyone know if this is correct # of bags? All the plastic bags were sealed and it appears all the minifigs are there. Any help would be appreciated. Tks, john -
Just bought five from Lego Pleasanton CA store today for $31.98. They had about 5 left on the shelf around 3pm.

Did it again. Ordered 79007 Black Gate and 79008 Pirate Ship Ambush for full price on target.com and returned to my local Target for price adjustment to $18 and $30 respectively. No hassle, no issues. They let me return it at full price and re-purchase w/o waiting for the clearance price. Woohoo -

i just returned 3 sets of Hobbit Goblin Kings 79010 to Target in Redwood City CA. The customer service person said it was mark down to $36 each. I just did this one hour ago and if someone is interested should go and buy it. I just didn't want to bother since I already got my price adjustment for Pirates Ambush and Battle at the Blackgate I'm going to order more Pirates Ambush and Blackgate online and try for more price adjustments
