  1. Trains for $150USD. All look mostly complete. We're excited to build the Maersk and 3677 Cargo Train. It even comes with two sets of working power functions. :-) Yay LEGO!

  2. Today I started in a curling league for the first time and played my first game. Good fun... Now I await to see how sore I am in the morning. Yay LEGO!

  5. At 7 a.m. I had a zoom call with a new reseller from the Netherlands. It was a good call and I'm certain he'll be successful in the near future. I then decided to go to Starbucks and order a grande black light roast coffee. Most people don't know that the light roast coffees have the most caffeine. Darker roasts burn off a lot of moisture and caffeine the longer it's in the roaster. I then walked to a nearby cemetery and headed to a headstone that I frequent. I drank my coffee and read a book by Henry Rollins, Eye Scream. I'm a bit surprised that Rollins hasn't maintained the same presence in pop culture that he had 15 years ago. After an hour or so I started to hear children giggling near me but I saw no children. Even though I didn't sense any bad feelings I figured it was time to go.

  6. I don't like it. Bunch of mini builds instead of one nice build.

  10. I think you should write a book, @LegoSteve. There's a gift in your describing what some might find otherwise uneventful. I will buy a copy, but I want it signed.

  11. Today I used a Lego part, https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=bb0219 one of the pieces that holds the train tracks together in the package, as the basis for a replacement part for my the power switch on my coffee grinder. I had to drill out the center with a 1/16" bit and then used my drill as a microlathe to cut off the flange and round the end of the part.

  12. Overall I think it looks nice, but the building front facade look might be too much of a deviation from the full building line we are used to. At a glance, it doesn't look like a facade modular system where you can connect future front buildings to make a real main street. That probably would have been nice to future proof the line.

  13. Actually this place is more like Mos Eisley cantina...collectors & display are discussed at that booth to your far right...nevermind all the reseller scum lurking in the shadows

  16. Contrary to popular belief that there was nothing good, I grabbed these from the Amazon $10 off $50 sale while they were still $5 off the new MSRP. They combined my separate orders and shipped them in one box. The lego boxes switched from seals to punch tabs this round. I really like this set and I believe it is the first time it has gone on sale in its first 6 months. I never see them stacked deep at Walmart so not sure about future discounts.

  19. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-razor-crest-75331 Not a customer for this one and doubt it will sell out at $600 without the Dark Saber Hilt GWP. The side entrance ramp looks pathetic and unfinished not sure why they didn't use the same elements they used to finish off the larger back ramp.

  21. With prices as of late, this one seems priced surprisingly low. LEGO must be feeling that Christmas spirit.
    2 points
  22. I agree. Plus I would have rather them upped the price to have a more completed design. Feels like they tried to do too much here within a $99 msrp.
    2 points
  23. Yeah I'm OK with the price - but I dunno. Doesn't match with previous winter Village with the obvious facade only and more modern style of buildings.

  24. Giving us fun themes (Hidden Side) and great technology (Bluetooth remote). 😅 On a more serious note, why does Lego want to go digital? They are one of the best analog toys. Parents don't want their kids on phonrs and adults are looking to get off them. Don't build stuff that requires phones.

  34. And that thing took years to appreciate. With two sets you can make a couple nice buildings here. Maybe I'll buy twice as many & sell in pairs.

  35. Will the trolley work on these tracks on 10259 Winter Village Station? Perhaps that set may even get more of a boost if it can get incorporated smoothly.

  37. Now have the Delorean on display. Looks good but it’s smaller than I had expected , especially when it’s close to the Ecto-1 set. Saying that , Ecto-1 is dwarfed by the 1989 Batmobile so yeh.

  38. 100% agree. Looks great but should have been 299. And from the lackluster sales, it seems fans agree. It's a shame. Would have been such a great 90th birthday present for fans. Now Lego will conclude that Knights don't sell.

  41. I wish we never had the major server issue over a year ago that forced us to make some difficult choices about removing features. Many things have changed for us over the past decade (plus) and the ways we made money to support the site have all but evaporated, so certain costly features had to be sacrificed. Throw in the fact we are in the middle of a pandemic and that there were two major family health issues that sucked Jeff's spare time this past year, many plans and fixes were not implemented. Is this an excuse? No, just the truth. Jeff is working on a slimmed down and more current version of Brickpicker, but the Brickfolio might not be in the final version. On a personal note, most member's LEGO inventories are probably so different at this point, what use will the data be? Most major resellers I know had their own spreadsheets to track their data. What I would suggest is that if the data is so important to you, message Jeff and ask him for it. I make no promises, but I think you will catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Stay safe...Ed Mack
